Mapped Keys only working with letters as hotkey

This is for chatting in Everquest.

I want to toggle combat keymap if i hit "enter" or "zirkumflex", so i can reply to tells and chat in everquest kind of automatically and once i hit enter the combat keymap will be back on.

What i did
I changed activate key maps hotkey to "zirkumflex", then added an alternate via right click and put "enter" as hotkey.

What happens
This simply won't do anything at all. Both keys work like they did before ingame (i guess i should also make the keys pass itself to current window, but that is besites the point).
If i change the keybinding to any letter, like "o" it is working as intended. Anything but the letters and isBoxer refuses to do anything at all. Tried + - # ^ enter enter(numpad) comma and dot

First ideas
The obvious answer would be a black / whitelist issue, but i fail to find any confic that has those activated.

Please ease my mind, this has to be an obvious thing i am missing, but it is really driving me crazy.

For your alternate hotkey you've got the "Hold any Keystroke Actions.." set to On. You probably will want that off.

Also, Enter is probably a bad choice as games generally hook it directly to determine whether to "open" chat mode. It may work though. If it does, it may make it impossible to chat.

1. You press Enter to turn off Keymaps. Keymaps turn off.
2. You press Enter to get into the chat box. Keymaps turn on.

Or

1. You press Enter to turn off Keymaps. Keymaps turn off.
2. You press click into the chat box, type your chat, press Enter to send. Chat message doesn't send, Keymaps turn on.

You can use this same principal mapped to "/" (to open chat) and "R" (to open chat and reply to the last tell). However, if you do:

you'll need to change the above behavior to pass the keystroke.

Thanks for those links.

Sadly the "/" key does not work as well for me, unlike you state in your posting. May be an issue with the german keyboard, i don't know. The ingame "/" is my "-" key actually. Not sure why that should make a difference for isBoxer tho.

As long as the Enter key is not working with Everquest this is only half functional tho. Sure i can turn off combatmaps via reply, but i still have to use a dedicated keystroke to turn it back on. And me forgetting to turn that back on got me killed a lot. That is why i wanted to automate that in the first place

Hope Lax can get this fixed at some point. Meanwhile ill have to try to remember turning stuff back on!

You can't attack without assisting. Likewise you can't run your DPS rotation without Mapped Keys on. Tie the Mapped Key toggle into /assist, then you never forget.
