unsure of problem

I downloaded the ISBoxer bundle, installed it, and have followed instructions exactly...

Unfortunately, ISBoxer will not communicate with innerspace, or innerspace will not configure game even though it found game and will load game through innerspace alone, but if I start ISBoxer it tells me that my game is not configured and I will not beable to load profiles or games until I configure game through innerspace.

I am running xp 32bit and fully updated optional updates too. Please help resolve this issue, I saw video of what this program is capable of and it would make my game playing experience with my accounts less of a chore. Thank you in advance.

Re: unsure of problem

When ISBoxer comes up, the first page it starts on has an "Inner Space folder" option. It's going to look in that folder for a file called GameConfiguration.XML. If it does not find it, or that XML file does not have configuration for any games, then the message you are seeing will come up.

Usually it's from having the wrong Inner Space folder in the box. You can double-check the Inner Space folder through Inner Space -- right click IS and select Console, in the Console window that comes up type "cd" with no quotes. It'll say what folder Inner Space is launching from. If that points to a different folder, that'd be a problem.

If that doesn't help, then I guess I'm going to need more information

Re: unsure of problem

It is running from innerspace file. Also, innerspace makes the game config file in the innerspace folder but ISBoxer does not see it there or something. They are both running from innerspace folder. Have ran game through innerspace to toon select screen and even game with each toon to see if that would help.

Dont know if this will help but, fresh install of xp pro with all updates including all .net (2.0 - 4.0 with respected service packs), fresh install of game, nothing added other then game, IS, and ISB.

ISB build #37
IS Build #5318, also tried the dev one #5324 I think it was.

Also did the "diag" on console, but not sure if you want me to post that here or send in email. Anything else you might need to help diagnose problem please let me know, I am anxious to use this software.

Send me your gameconfiguration.xml (lax@lavishsoft.com) or paste it here and I'll take a look I guess

I sent it over to your email. I will post it here also. I am sure there is something I am missing but I can not seem to figure it out.

Re: unsure of problem

I havent been able to figure this out so I type out word for word the message it gives me. But first I will run through exactly what I do.

Lavish.ISBoxerBundle to default location

then I run game through innerspace in the bottom right hand corner. wow - default profiles.

I login into game wait until it gets to character select screen. (even tried logging into game with all characters)

then I closed down game and then close innerspace. Restart innerspace then start ISBoxer.... then I get the below message

"Inner Space Game Configuration was unable to be loaded from the selected Inner Space folder. You will not be able to select a Game or Game Profile for a Character until ISBoxer Toolkit can read them from your Inner Space configuration. Please make sure that Inner Space has your Game configured (you may need to select 'Add Game' from the Inner Space ment), then restart ISBoxer"

Tried adding game too but that went to same place. Attached to previous post is game config file that is placed in innerspace folder.

Re: unsure of problem

Sorry about the delay responding here.

I don't really know what else to suggest, I know plenty of people are using ISBoxer on Windows XP and I haven't heard of this happening (on any version of Windows). I guess something you can try is to uninstall .NET 2.0-3.5, and reinstall it again. Maybe .NET is corrupted somehow and causing this issue. Probably not, but people have had corrupted installs before that caused problems so it's not unheard of for strange things to happen.

The only reasons this should ever happen is if InnerSpace\GameConfiguration.XML doesn't exist (specifically in the IS folder that ISBoxer is looking at), or is corrupted or invalid XML (it looks fine), or if ISBoxer does not have permission to access it -- which also means that if you've got security software or security policies or something that might somehow affect ISBoxer's ability to read the file, changing that might help.

Re: unsure of problem

well I was wondering, and I apologize if I sound like a newb... before I posted the previous post I noticed that my .net 3.5 is not registered in the registry where all the others is. So, I have been thinking is that normal for everyone else that has xp or just me?

But I will for sure uninstall all the .nets and reinstall them and then reinstall the bundle and see if that cures the problem.

Edit: uninstalled all .net but 2.0 and 3.0, also upon lax saying "if you've got security software or security policies or something that might somehow affect ISBoxer's ability to read the file, changing that might help." I decided to investigate the regisrty a little more... I found under .NET security that .net 2.0 was set to special permissions and not full access for my account name. So also changed this to full access. So either I had a corrupt .net not allowing ISBoxer to read XML file or the registry was blocking it from accessing it. Either way, it is now working. Thanks lax for helping me think outside the box. :D :D :D Sorry for such a large post just wanted to help others that may have same problem now and in the future.
