lotroclient.exe crash because of IS-D3D9.dll && more

1
Normally i use the development release of InnerSpace but in the last weeks when i played LOTRO i was forced to use the stable version 5957. Now that 5963 is live i get this error in the recent version (and all further development versions) which gets every day more annoying.

Launching my Character Set works perfectly fine, i can play for hours but when i logout in LOTRO to the characterscreen and then click the "exit LOTRO" button OR kick the game with ALT+F4 the game close itself but then i get this error for every Slot i launched:

    Image

I run all my clients in DirectX9 mode offered by the game itself, no forcing through Innerspace.
Attached a dumpfile (ISBoxer Diagnostics for game freezes) which i hope could help. (ROFL for not allowing a file with extension .dmp)

2
An even more annoying error is that everytime i launch my Character Set the first time all clients stay in a windowed mode until the Character Set is fully loaded.
When the last Slot is launched by ISBoxer Slot 2++ jump to the position in the Window Layout but the first Slot stays in the middle of my screen as a normal window. In my recent config i use multiple Slots with 1280x720, my monitor is 1920x1080 and the Window Layout should put all Slots stacked in the left upper part of the screen.

This happens with my old config from ISBoxer 38+ but also with a new version (File->Clear and only the basics from the Quick Setup Wizard)

As i mentioned, after fully launching the Character Set without any errors in any console the first Slot stays in windowed mode with the resolution 1280x720.
This can be fixed by launching the Character Set again. Now all(!) Slots jump into the right position/size.

This error was discussed by me, creo, bob and i think a few other in #isboxer-lotro over the last few months. We all had this problem :(

Please give it a look.
Thank you.

EDIT:
3
While i am at it i add a third one:

Every time i export my config i get this ''warning'' from ISBoxer:
    Code:
    * Launcher is currently configured for single game instance mode.

If you hit YES and let ISBoxer change the .ini file then the next time you launch the game the launcher shows up, you have to enter username & password and then click the server you want to play on (and then choose your subscription if you have multiple subscriptions under one account) and then click on LOGIN.
The button ''automatically log into the server you last played on'' does not appear if the .ini contains the multiple instance mode.

If you hit NO and let ISBoxer change the .ini file then the next time you launch the game the launcher shows up, you have to enter username & password (and then choose your subscription if you have multiple subscriptions under one account) (LOTRO chooses the server automatically as it remembered it in the .ini) and then click on LOGIN. Voila, Done!

I am aware that i have to create another X Characters when i decide to play on another server and i am aware of all the commandline parameters for TurbineInvoker.exe/TurbineLauncher.exe.
When i use all of the parameters i can minimize the time/clicks per account to ONE click but still have each time when i Export this dumb warning .....
As a Multiboxer i want to minimize the effort of the login procedure... the more accounts, the more time passes until i can play!

As ISBoxer virtualizes the UserPreferences.ini for each Slot there is no reason to force (or advice) us to use the multiple instance mode. Please reconsider this.

The current development build is 5972 and includes various compatibility/stability fixes. Please try it if you have not yet

ROFL for not allowing a file with extension .dmp

Generally I recommend just e-mailing me dmp files. Unlike the "Diagnostics for game crashes", dmp files require a special tool to read and will not be useful to anyone else, so I wouldn't say they really "go" in a forum post

I'll see what I can do, thanks for posting.

Uhm ... okay?!

Image

This happens when i rightclick on the Innerspace icon in my systemtray.
Launching my Character Set through ISBoxer or using the shortcut on my desktop works fine.

The APPCRASH when exiting the game is still existing with build 5972 :(

Re: lotroclient.exe crash because of IS-D3D9.dll && more

The button ''automatically log into the server you last played on'' does not appear if the .ini contains the multiple instance mode.

I didn't realize that. I'll see what I can do.

As ISBoxer virtualizes the UserPreferences.ini for each Slot there is no reason to force (or advice) us to use the multiple instance mode.

Virtualizing the UserPreferences.ini is actually unrelated to the multiple instance mode, I'm not really sure why you think virtualizing that file affects the multiple instance mode (except for showing the button you mentioned)... The reason it was enabled is because the client required it in order to allow multiple instances. It also required changing a network setting in the ini file. It may be different now.

Anyway, working on these issues. I'll see what I can reproduce. I get no crash on exit, are you using multiple monitors? What version of Windows? Can you show me your ISBoxer profile for lotro?

I have managed to duplicate the crash at exit. I also see that my window does not immediately go into the layout, but it went to the right spot after switching windows and the swapping behavior kicked in. Working on it

Re: lotroclient.exe crash because of IS-D3D9.dll && more

Code:
ISBoxer 41.7.0323.3
    * Lord of the Rings Online:
o Fixed a bug with initially applying Window Layouts when launching the game
o The configuration checker no longer asks to fix 'allowmultipleinstances'

Update via Help->About

The crash at exit is fixed in Inner Space build 5978, now the development build of Inner Space. For anyone who would like to try it out, right click IS and select Patcher, tick "Download development (test) patches" and then close and restart Inner Space to let it patch up

Re: lotroclient.exe crash because of IS-D3D9.dll && more

Thank you for all those fixes!

In the meantime i figured what caused the BEX crash on rightclicking the Innerspace symbol in the tray:

I had named a Character Set with a very long name (73 characters) and apparently InnerSpace now has problems to create the rightclick menu if the Character Set name exceeds 63 characters.
