Easy Wizard 4 x multibox Arcane Orb build Youtube video

First of all, is it ok to post stuff like this in this forum or is it strictly for technical support?

If any of you are still trying to figure out a viable wizard build, Arcane Orb works really well. I posted a youtube video with 4 clients and audio commentary. I am able to run T4 with a main that has above average gear and 3 farmers with less than 100m including gems. The video is an hour and 27 minutes long and I take you through a lot of act 3 after I ramble on for a bit. I hope at least one person finds this helpful.

Nice and thx for a share.

BTW - you've got 60fps settings and game looks great - what hardware you've got and what settings (res, textures etc.) for your game?

Re: Easy Wizard 4 x multibox Arcane Orb build Youtube video

I guess I should have went over that in the video. My systems spec is as follows:

2 x Radeon HD 7970's at 1050 MHz and 1500 MHZ
i7 990 X @ 4.5 GHZ
12 GB DDR3 triple channel RAM at 1866 MHz
Game is installed on a SATA III SDD

Only one of those video cards works since this game does not support crossfire. My 6 cores with hyperthreading is wasted on this game since it does not utilize them. Faster is better than more cores for D3. In 1.0.8, my FPS would routinely drop to low 40's with more than 15 monters on the screen because the game was poorly optimized. They fixed many of those issues with 2.0 and it runs a lot smoother. Having said that, an SSD was madatory in 1.0.8 but I have not tried a good HDD yet in this patch. My game settings are 1920x1080, texture quality = high, Shadow quality = medium smooth, physics = high, clutter density = medium, Low FX is checked and AA is not checked. It takes one of my GPU's running at 90% to maintain 60 FPS. If I drop all the settings to the minimum, my GPU runs at 60% to hold 60 FPS.

That's nice man. I run 4x wizards as well with arcane orb. I mainly do Torment 1 runs for legendaries in Core of Arreat because my alts are poorly geared (150k dps). Given only one of your GPUs works I have a fairly similar system but I don't get nearly as great performance as you... =/ Do you leave Vertical Sync checked in Diablo 3? And what kind of ISBoxer settings do you run (performance tab of the slots, dxNothing?, Window layout?) I run two monitors both 1920x1080 with all 4 stacked on one monitor and a dxNothing running Video-FX feed for the 3 alts in the background.

Btw, I have found that using MIrrorball is AMAZING wizards and boxing. You switch to the glacial blast version of magic missile and your freezing everything in AoE + doing 3x the damage (if you roll a +2 missile).

Re: Easy Wizard 4 x multibox Arcane Orb build Youtube video

I currently have 4 monitors but I run all 3 clients on a single monitor and use swapping. I tried running all 4 1080 monitors but a single 7970 was only able to run them at around 15 FPS. The main client window displays 1920 x 780 with the 3 swappable windows beneath it. I have the 3 swappable windows set to a max of 30 FPS while the main window is set to 60. The swappable windows are small enough and out of the way so you really don't notice that they are running 30 FPS. The action is still pretty smooth. I do not have vertical sync checked but I think innerspace is limiting the frame rate to whatever I have isboxer set to, if I understand how it works correctly.

Re: Easy Wizard 4 x multibox Arcane Orb build Youtube video

You should try to mix classes so you improve your damage with sinergies instead of trying to boost each character's damage. That way you can go higher level of difficulty. Having all chars of the same class makes it more easy to handle but limits the potential of the party. I did that when I started multiboxing and took me a lot of time to understand some things about this software.

In my case I use 2 wizards similar to your setup (Frozen Orb + Archon) maxing % of cold damage, 1 zdps monk with Conviction Dishearten (80% slow + wizards ice = mobs in slowmotion) using a Sledge Fist to keep everything stunned, and a WD with Hex and pets as meat shields, also Big Bad Voodoo so it adds 30% damage (Archon + BBV = everything melts). I can do Torment 5 with this setup but usually I do just 4 because it's more efficient.

For white mobs I simply cast Ciclone Strike Implossion, couple Exploding Palms and 2 orbs will literally take care of 20 mobs almost instantly. Elites can be tricky but that's were the pets come in to play, working as tanks and with the monk + wd crowd crontrol, it's not that hard. Not to mention the damage Archon does with BBV. If it's to hard to fight close, I just run one screen away and let the pets tank while I spam Orbs from safety. I check the affixes and if there's no electric or thunderstorm I cast all my combo and they die in less than 10 secs.

This kind of setup requires configuring keymaps so you can mix skills per class and some coordination so you use your skills in combo. Difficult at first but then it's fairly simple and satisfying.

Good luck :)

PS: Also for Archon, you might want to try Arcane Distruction rune. Get close to an Elite pack, pop Archon and boom, half life before the fight even starts. Sure Improved Archon rune has 25% damage, but since Archon has changed and increases 6% damage per enemy killed, a few white mobs will give you the same amount of damage Improved Archon gave you.

Devil can you record any video and share with us?
I'm curios how it's looks.
At youtube I can find only (almost) video with single classes.

Re: Easy Wizard 4 x multibox Arcane Orb build Youtube video

Thanks for the tips!

I was thinking about mixing in one of my WD in to the mix for BBV. I would be curious to see a video of your multi class in action. As a side note, I can handle T5 but T4 is more efficientl for me as well.

Re: Easy Wizard 4 x multibox Arcane Orb build Youtube video

I always like to see and hear how others are multiboxing, regardless of whether or not it's a game that I'm currently multiboxing. I do like D3 and I really wanted to already be multiboxing it at this point, but it's sometimes difficult to manage multiboxing multiple games with other things going on outside of gaming.

I haven't had a chance to watch the entire video all the way through yet, but a few recommendations I will make are...

1) If you're going to show off random gameplay footage, it might be best to just start playing with a set time in mind and then stick to it.

This video is 90 minutes long and there's no way that someone could realistically remember all the pointers that you talk about throughout the entire video (assuming people even make it through all 90 minutes) without maybe taking written notes. In the future, someone might ask how to do something in D3 and while you may remember doing it in this 90 minute video, months down the line it's now really difficult for you to look through this long video in order to pinpoint where exactly you did something that this other person is asking about, and it might seem lazy if you just threw a 90 minute video at someone and said, "Yeah, it's in here somewhere."

For something like this, I would have probably suggested to break it up by each area that you go to in order to, not only give the viewers a break, but give yourself a break as well. It also helps people who are maybe having trouble with certain areas and are looking for tips or just some gameplay footage of that area, and breaking up videos by area (or some other criteria) will help them find it easier with a simple search.

2) Audio levels. This is one that many people struggle with when recording things live and even I still struggle with it at times. I'm at the point where you're making your way through StoneFort, but I can barely hear you speaking at times because of all the action that's happening on screen and drowning you out.

This kinda ties into my suggestion above because if you had taken a break after about 30 minutes or so and reviewed what you had recorded, you may have been able to realize that the game audio should probably be dropped down a bit for future recording sessions.

3) As it's already been mentioned, and I know you posted it in this thread already, you should probably make a separate video outlining your hardware/isboxer configuration. In my opinion, this is really only necessary if you plan to continue to make more videos because it gives you somewhere to direct everyone when they start asking what your setup is, and rather than having to continually repeat yourself again and again, you can just throw a link at them which will provide the information they're looking for.
