Follow the Jamba leader

how do I tell my characters to follow the current Jamba leader without turning on Jamba strobing.
I kind of want a one time follow me that can be broken anytime I press an arrow key.

I can get them to follow if I turn on the jamba strobe but it's a toggle so I usually end up pressing it too many times ( have to turn it off and back on, etc )

I see the control mapped keys have a "follow/jamba master" and that sounds perfect but it doesn't have a hotkey assigned to it.
and that seems to use the general "FTL follow me" which is "alt+f" but if I press "alt+f" nobody follows my leader.

FTL Follow Me (Alt+F) is supposed to follow whoever you have as the active window. If it doesn't, it might be because you changed it and broke it

It could also be because Key Maps are toggled off, in which case the answer is to just toggle them back on.
