Patch 1.0.8 is here, bonuses for multiboxing

... well okay, the bonus is for group play, but as we multiboxers are group playing, they're for us too :)

And, queue the QQ regarding multiplayer bonuses! Not that it didn't already start before the patch was released...

Multiplayer Co-Op
  • Players now receive a 10% bonus to Magic Find, Gold Find, and Experience per additional player in a multiplayer game, up to a maximum of 30% in a four-player game
  • The Magic Find and Gold Find bonuses can exceed their respective 300% caps
  • The Experience bonus can stack with other bonuses from items and Monster Power (the bonuses will stack multiplicatively)
  • A notification is now sent to all players in a multiplayer game whenever a party member engages an Elite monster or Treasure Goblin in combat, and their location will be shown on the mini-map
  • In addition to this, an icon will also appear over player banners in town to indicate if they're in combat with a monster, Elite monster, or Treasure Goblin

So how about it guys, what are your favorite and least favorite changes with D3 Patch 1.0.8?

Remember to turn off the new feature "showing players around you". I got tons of spam invite after I log in. Now I have to turn it off, it seem the spam invites have not appear so far....touch wood.

1.0.8 has been awesome for me multiboxing. The extra EXP helped me hit paragon 100 with my barb much faster and the lowered monster health means you can go up one MP levels higher with the same gear for more shitty loot and more EXP.

I currently run a Rend/Hota barb, 2x CM WW Wizards and a Monk with Cyclone strike (a.k.a. The Dream Team) but I'm really tempted to swap the barb or a CM wiz with a Firebat Witch Doctor for something different and to add the WD's ~50% party buff with big bad voodoo slam dance and mass confusion paranoia. The witch doctor can be a heavy hitter now and as long as you have a cyclone strike monk, the small radius of cloud of bats is not a problem when you can just suck all the mobs in. I want to do it but I might take my time with gear and try and figure out new keymaps for IsBoxer.

All in all, really enjoying 1.0.8.

Do you have any difficulty running different characters with differnet skills? Any suggestions?

For the WD Big Bad 50% party buff, is there a way to make it mobile and/or reduce CD? I haven't looked closely, but I hated that the one time I tried it I was frustrated it stays in one place

Oh, and could you provide a link to your characters?

Speaking of farming though, I farm (very occasionally) with 1 Monk, 1 Barb, 1 Wiz and 1 Wd.

All the damage comes from Archon (arcane destruction), rest of the time I chill in town until my Monk finds a new Elite group.

Here is a very old video with much crappy gear, but gives you an idea I guess.

Nowadays I farm everything including keywardens with 9+mil crits etc its pretty kool. Archon beam is just sheer ease and convenience IMO, and much more friendly than HOTA. (mind you I don't spend much time on D3 nowadays until they add interesting items).

Thank you for the response, and the video.

It was amazing to watch you control 1 guy and then have the 3 stand to the side. Can that be done using 1 PC/Mouse/Keyboard?

I would assume my mouse position on the 1 guy would always end up being off, but maybe there is a known solution or workaround I'm missing.

Oops yea I think I probably never made it clear on that video that I'm dual wielding two mice on two PC IRL...but I'd imagine the keyboard is a bit redundant and can never allow you to control a "separate" character to the same detail as another mouse.
