Blackscreens when undocking multiple clients

Hey there. I and several other ISBoxer guys have experienced this problem when undocking several people at once (this happens a LOT when undocking many multiple). Pasting my petition:

While multiboxing, I seem to have a very common problem whereby I undock and several of my accounts (today, four out of six) show a black screen. However, the overview and NEOCOM are both functional, as are other windows above. I can dock back up and do other things, but when I dock back up, the background remains blank. I cannot open the right-click menu in space.

This has been happening off and on for the last couple of months, but I didn't log in enough to notice it. This does seem like a pretty troublesome problem; please let me know if you can do anything about it. See pastebin for dxdiag.

Another symptom: the ingame fleet finder doesn't work for those blackscreeners, but it does for the ones that don't go all black.

Let me know if you've heard anything about this. It reproduces pretty easily.

I have the exact same issues with Eve Online.

I'm using 10 accounts and what I see is that nearly every time between 1-4 of the accounts have the black-screen issue and I have te log-off / log-on with these accounst to fix the issue.

To log-on I use the key broadcasting to enter my password which is the same for all accounts simultanously - I didn't try yet if it also happens if I log-on each account one-by-one because this would be real pain in the a...

I multibox the same 10 accounts on three different machines and the issue happens on all machines.

It appears to be an issue that's present due to the way the game deals with its data when changing grid or loading data as-well..
By logging off in space im able to mitigate alot of (but not all) of the chance of having the problem...
This appears to link with another issue which ill explain below...

If i Syncro-login all of my chars while they are in a station i will load the station and its evnvironment and the interface etc just fine... BUT if i create a fleet with another char thats not inside the MB group and then use the group to find the fleet that has just been crated theres a chance that a number of the accounts will not be able to see this newly created fleet. Now if i go ahead and undock this group of chars, the accounts that were not able to see the fleet are exactly the same ones that will black screen upon undocking.
so these two things do appear to have some kind of link together...

The way that i have found to greatly reduce the risk of it happening is sadly to select each character one by one when logging them in and wait for each one to fully load before logging in the next one. Problem is when you want to log in the group in a hurry thats not exactly easy to achieve in a hurry.
Not sure if there is anything that can be done to make this problem go away but if there is one it would be awesome to be able to syncro logon the group knowing i wont have desync issues to sort when i do.

It may have to do with the game's cache, and using only one copy of the cache. All of the game instances accessing it when you undock at the same time may be causing a problem. We can virtualize it and use multiple copies without multiple folders, but of course that only helps if I'm guessing right about the issue...

As something easy to do that could potentially mitigate the problem, I might be inclined to try using a round-robin key/click binding and hit it once per account. With only a handful accounts this might be viable, but I'm not sure The Wis is going to want to do that...

I 10-box Eve, too, and haven't had the black-screen issue in a while, as I'm down in null and it's not heavily populated out here.
When I was mooching around Jita it would happen all the time - log in, 2-3 black-screens; undock, 1-2 black-screens; gate to another system, 2-3 black-screens etc etc.

What I do find now, though, is on logging them in (with broadcast to enter password and log the char in), some of my 10 chars won't see that some of the rest of them are in the station - so char 1 might see all 10 of us docked in the station guest list but char 2 might only see 8 of them, char 3 sees 9 of them, char 4 sees all 10 etc.
If char 2 can't see char 1 in the docked guests lists then they can't initiate a trade but char 1, who can see char 2 docked, can initiate a trade.

Id say its worth a shot... especially if its not overly difficult to do... The evident behaviour appears to indicate some kind of relation to the cache.
but thats just my guess. when i logged in my 15 chars one by one (inside station) yesterday 7 of them blackscreened upon undocking and i had to relog them again.
If this little niggle can be sorted it would potentially prevent embarassing losses of great magnitude.

I do still get the not seeing all chars in station when mass docking. Easy fix for that is click the agents tab then guest tab and the list should populate correctly.

The agents/guest tab fix doesn't work in the situation I'm describing.

Sounds like you might be having two bugs at once... the black screen issue and of course the station guest list which has been known to bug occasionally.
try looking for a fleet with the chars and compare the ones that blackscreen with those that cant see the fleet. you should find they are the same ones.
Another little bug that irritates me is local not showing standings when i log in so i keep thinking local has a ton of neutrals in it :S

You can 'fix' that in the same way as the docked issue - simply click on the channels button and reselect local and it refreshes the window with the correct standings.

I wouldn't call it a "little bug" though - those colours are frigging important down in null, so to have such a bug in the live system for years, now, is embarrassing!
