Target {CHARACTERSET} Slot {SLOT} question

Hi, quick question -
I am using multiple PC setup and have Target {CHARACTERSET} Slot {SLOT} in my target/assist keymaps to allow for running the show from different windows. In my Variable Keys I have specified "Target MainPC Slot 1" etc. for all my sets/slots. I have copy-pasted "Target {CHARACTERSET} Slot {SLOT}" command taken from these forums into the Variable Keystroke field in my assist key and it seems to work, I am just wondering if this is the correct way of doing this or I should have created an additional specific Variable Keystroke - Target {CHARACTERSET} Slot {SLOT} - and used a dropdown list in target/assist keymaps to select this Variable Keystroke?

Another mapping question (not related to targeting but dont want to create a new topic) - will chained visualisation work? I.e. for non-WoW healers I use clickbar toggles that substitute their "DPS rotation" with "Healing Rotation" with appropriate targeting via Mapped Key Visualization Action. I am wondering if situationally I can use second toggle (timed) to then susbtitute "Healing Rotation" with, say, "Cure" to cast cleanse and return to healing rotation upon timer expiration. In effect "DPS rotation" will get visualized by "healing Rotation" and then by "Cure", is that correct?

Thx in advance

You do not need a Variable Keystroke named "Target {CHARACTERSET} Slot {SLOT}", these keywords are replaced during gameplay with the active Character's information so that it is indeed looking for "Target MainPC Slot 1". You are doing it correctly, nice work :)

It is designed to work, yes! If it does not, then see me and I'll look into it :P

Re: Target {CHARACTERSET} Slot {SLOT} question

Thanks lax :) Pretty much everything is working as I intend :)

As I mendtioned, I am widely using toggles to manage procs, some cooldowns etc - via mapped key executing steps both on Press and Release. The press step normally would switch a rotation to a mapped key that has the spell (or rotation that has the spell included) that I want to go off, and the release step resets the rotation to its original state but with a delay timer - 1-3 secs depending on GCD of the game. I like this way because just having a mapped key with the requred spell pressed in the middle of the dps rotation does not guarantee that it will go off because the game could be processing another spell or it could be on GCD . Toggle makes sure the game has enough time for the desired spell to fire off. Ofc spells that have no GCD dependance like Windshear or Bloodlust are best off just having a direct mapped key assigned with /cancel spellcast added.

One thing I wish I could do - is to place some toggles on click bars, but I think that even if the keymap toggle is set to execute steps both on press and release, ISboxer does not treat mouse click the same way - i.e. I have to click twice to ensure that the mapped key does both steps. I know I could use the option of mouseover in click bar button to make press part of the mapped toggle to go off, but I generally try to avoid it, because its not 100% accurate in my experience, and I could accidentally mouse over it in game etc. Is there a way to tackle this via having an ability to configure mouse click as two step action (both press and release)?

ISBoxer does in fact treat mouse clicks the same way, you're just configuring your click Mapped Key "wrong" if you have to click twice to ensure that the mapped key does both Steps. Zero percent different than if it was a keyboard button.

This depends ONLY on the press/release/Hold options for the Mapped Key you attach to your Click Bar Button.

You may have used a middle-man Mapped Key with a "Do Mapped Key Action" to perform your toggle (pointing the button at this middle-man Mapped Key), as opposed to directly using the toggle. If so, then you should have configured this separate Mapped Key with the HOLD option enabled, in order to preserve the original behavior of the toggle being "done" (both the press and the release are passed on to the original Mapped Key). If it's set to "pressed" or "released", then this would definitely require you to click twice to perform both Steps (because at that point you have instructed it to ignore the other half of your click, regardless of the settings on the toggle).

Hope that clears it up :)

Oh! I must've messed up in my earlier experiments... Thanks for setting me straight!
