Windows 8 Update (Need Help)

Hey,

Recently added Windows 8 to my computer. I log onto ISBoxer well, go to character screen fine, even log in. When I try to move my camera angles around, it immediately looks up into the sky and when I try to move it around it disconnects me from the server. Is there a Windows 8 update or is this something I might have missed?
Note: I have used this character setup for a few days so I am sure the Settings are correct.

Re: Windows 8 Update

Update: Redownloaded my CCC (Catalyst for AMD), did another Windows update. Still not working.
Also tried to create a new profile to see if the profile was the problem, nothing coming up.
Any Assistance is helpful

I'm not sure if IS Boxer works with Win8 or not.
I know Pwnboxer is not working with Win8; not sure on the other boxing options.

Thanks, yeah it's only the mouse whenever you click. Just directly to the sky. Everything else works fine.

Re: Windows 8 Update (Need Help)

Hello, I have Windows 8 which seems to have .Net Framework 4.5 and DirectX11 out of the gate. IS Suite won't launch and it insists I get Net 3.5, IS (target icon thingy) wants DX9... any chance of versions that support .Net Framework 4.5/DirectX 11?

Re: Windows 8 Update (Need Help)

I'll have to look into the mouselook issue the OP is having. This issue MAY already be corrected in the development build of Inner Space; to try it out, right click IS and select Patcher, check "Download development (test) patches" and then close and restart Inner Space.

Hi! Have you considered that what the software is telling you to do might be right, and that the answer you get might simply be to do what it says? :)

The message you're getting from ISBoxer the first time you run it is a message built into Windows 8. .NET 2.0-3.5 is a separate package from .NET 4.0-4.5, and Windows 8 will need to download some pieces that it does not specifically ship with.

Similarly, DirectX 11 is a separate package from DirectX 10, and 9, and you probably have all 3 of them installed simply by having Windows 8 installed. However, what Inner Space needs is an update to DirectX 9 that is not shipped with Windows 8. Or Windows 7, or Vista. So, every time there's a major WIndows release, this exact question is asked about the new version of Windows. ;) Inner Space supports both DirectX 9 and DirectX 11, but it does require d3dx9, which is downloaded only with the DirectX 9 UPDATES, never part of the base OS. Please install the updates, and enjoy!

Re: Windows 8 Update (Need Help)

Heya and thanks for the fast reply as always!

I do try to avoid installing anything I can (especially after a .Net patch kinda wrecked my Win 7) and I did a clean Win8 install.

Sorry people always ask these same questions when there is a new OS out, was I at least first?

I will install those things as I can't go on without my ISBoxer, thanks again lax!

I have installed the Test Patches, the mouse look issue still wasn't resolved. Also, I have tried to run as Win7 Comp Mode and was unsuccessful as well.

Re: Windows 8 Update (Need Help)

An update on this...

I did a fresh installation of Windows 8, WoW and ISBoxer, and I am currently unable to reproduce a mouse spinning issue... It seems to operate the same as on Windows 7.

Actually I can reproduce an issue like it, but so far ONLY over Remote Desktop (and this happens with or without IS/ISBoxer over Remote Desktop).

Can you make sure you have Hardware Cursor enabled in WoW? (I believe this option is under System, Advanced, in the game)
