itw activate on press cancel on release

Hey, I was wondering how to set up is boxer key maps to interact with the target on press, then stop on the released. I play wow and i want to be able to make so they move to the target but stop when the button is released so they dont go all the way to the target. they talked about it on the iwt quick guide but never said how to set it up, and im new on making key maps.

Re: itw activate on press cancel on release

If I'm hearing what you're saying correctly it won't work as you describe. For IWT to cause a character to move to a target you have to have 'Click-to-move' turned on and that puts a character in motion but does not stop the character if you were to then turn off 'click-to-move', it will finish the movement. You might try the following:

    On Press
    Activate CTM
    IWT

    On Release
    Disable CTM
Use a mapped 'back' movement key to break the current movement

This would mean that you would have to hold the key down until the character reached the desired location and then release. I've used this in the past for slave looting, hold the button until the slave has looted the target and release to bring him back and put him on follow.

Alternatively you could use a toggle key setup that switches between two mapped keys, this would ultimately require 3 mapped keys to accomplish it but it would keep you from having to hold a key down to move the slave toon. You might have a look at the '2-Step' macros and how those are setup for an example.

Re: itw activate on press cancel on release

As pvp macro, to respond to a fear bomb, IWT on press and Cancel (via a movement key) on release is excellent.
Your toons are scattered, and they all Interact with a central target to recover.
This would also be a great key, for when your toons are spread out and you want them all to face the correct direction to cast at their target.

If you have a melee team, that is supposed to move towards the target to kill it.
You'll generally want the IWT sent on the press, without breaking the movement on the release.
