IWT FTL DPS keys[Resolved]

Hello I have been trying for days to get IWT working. I had it working for a very short amount of time and it broke again. I have started from scratch many times. IWT works perfectly. But the FTL DPS keys(2,3,4) are weird, Firstly if I do not spam the IWT key 3-5 times when switching targets then hit 2-4 it will target my masters previous target but continue running at the current one. The 2.3,4 Keys do not IWT at all. They are just working as normal keys. I have tried everything and searched everything I know. So my last hope is you guys here is my pastebin

Re: IWT FTL DPS keys

I can see some issues with your config straight away but need additional information to be able to give you a full answer.

1. Which Character Set are you talking about here?
2. When you say "spam the IWT key", which key are you talking about?
3. Do you normally turn Key Maps Off and On again as part of your normal log in procedure?

1. 5 deathknights

2. The G key, binded to interact with target in-game

3. Yes

Re: IWT FTL DPS keys

OK, first thing, you should add the 5 Deathknights Character Set to the FTL DPS Keys Key Map because at the moment the only reason that Key Map gets activated for that Character Set is because you are turning Key Maps off and on again.

The next issue is that you have multiple Mapped Keys that trigger from the Hotkey G. One in General (Interact with Target - Keep CTM) that assists and interacts, one in 5 Deathknights (G) that just interacts and another in 5 Deathknights (IWT) that assists and interacts. This may be related to
Firstly if I do not spam the IWT key 3-5 times when switching targets then hit 2-4 it will target my masters previous target but continue running at the current one.
Ideally each Hotkey should activate a single Mapped Key (there are exceptions but this is not one of those cases). Be aware that it takes time for assisting to work. Your client must query the server for the appropriate new target. This takes time on the order of your ping and so you will sometimes end up interacting with a previous target.

Finally, your DPS 2 through DPS 4 Mapped Keys in FTL DPS Keys all have 2 steps: step 1 assists and sends a keystroke, step 2 does the IWT. DPS 2 is set to activate when pressed, DPS 3 and DPS 4 are set to activate when released. This means that the first time you hit 2 (or 3 or 4) you will only assist and cast. It will not be until the second time you press 2 (or 3 or 4) that you do "Melle (sic) IWT". So change DPS 2 through 4 to execute a Step when pressed OR released. They will then assist on key press and interact on key release (assuming this is the behaviour you want). Also, Melle IWT in 5 Deathknights is set to execute a step when pressed OR released, which I believe is redundant when a Mapped Key only has one step.

Re: IWT FTL DPS keys

There's several things wrong with your IWT as configured.

First of all... you've got 2 steps in your 2,3,4 Mapped Keys and they're set to perform on Pressed. Your IWT instruction happens on the second step. So the first time you press 2, it is just going to attack, and the second time you press 2, it is just going to [attempt to] IWT. This is probably not how you meant for it to work?

Secondly, the reason your manually-created IWT Hotkey works (presumably... the one you assigned G to send G to all) is because you told it what key to press. The reason the automatically-created IWT key does not work is because you did not tell it what key to press. WoW Interact with Target: Configure the Hotkey and Key Binding in ISBoxer -- you did parts 1-3 here to configure a Hotkey (which you press), but ISBoxer doesn't know what button to press in the game because parts 4-6 aren't done. :)

Thirdly, your idea of using "Interact with Target - Keep CTM" from your "Melle IWT" Mapped Key is good, but bad. It's good because it's already made and it may technically work (after fixing the above). But it's bad because "Interact with Target - Keep CTM" operates on every character in your group instead of just one. So you're telling each of your Melee characters individually, to initiate something that will affect everyone else -- each one is saying "okay assist me! now interact with my target!" and you're going to run into problems with losing targets and having the wrong thing selected. (As you seem to have described?) You probably don't need any of that except for the part that sends G to the window; just use a Keystroke Action to send G, or use a Variable Keystroke Action to send "Interact with Target" (after having fixed the issue from the previous paragraph).

People get this screwed up by making it harder than it really is -- turn on Click to Move and press Interact with Target ;)

Re: IWT FTL DPS keys

I apologize for my ignorance but thanks for taking the time to help me. Not to mention your fantastic response time.

IWT is working fine now except for the changing of targets as described in the first post (Although they change MUCH less often and if I spam 2,3,4 a few times they will all get the right target by that I mean even if the master switches targets I assume assisting a slave it will switch back without me having to click) I removed the extra G Keys and removed and changed to IWT instead of IWT-CTM I also removed my IWT that I made.

EDIT: Although you probably see this in my pastebin, The code is still a bit like braille to me. But if I use G to switch targets instead of 2,3,4. It works perfectly no lose of target. I understand I could use the G key to switch but 2,3,4 is faster and I am a perfectionist.

Re: IWT FTL DPS keys

Lax already addressed this issue:

Let me try and explain what is currently happening:
1. You press 2 on your keyboard.
2. Your slaves assist your main and all windows receive a keypress of 2, which does whatever that is bound to in game.
3. You release 2 on your keyboard.
4. Every Character in the Melee ATG (all of your DKs) perform the Melle IWT Mapped Key.
5. The Melle IWT Mapped Key just does the Interact with Target Mapped Key.
6. The Interact with Target Mapped Key (which is being performed by each Character) then makes every other Character assist (this is 20 assists, some of which may end up assisting previous targets as the order is not deterministic) and every Character Interact with Target (for a total of 25 commands to interact with target - which by this stage is pot luck).

I think the Interact with Target Mapped Key in General does everything you want to do on a keypress of 2 except send 2 to your games, so you can just duplicate it and add that in. Here is what I suggest:
1. Delete the DPS 2, DPS 3 and DPS 4 Mapped Keys in FTL DPS Keys (right click each Mapped Key and choose Delete).
2. Right click the Interact with Target Mapped Key in General and choose Copy Mapped Key to Clipboard.
3. In the FTL DPS Keys Key Map, right click Mapped Keys in the bottom pane of ISBoxer and choose Paste Mapped Key from Clipboard.
4. A new Mapped Key called Interact with Target will be created in FTL DPS Keys. Right click it and rename it to DPS 2. Change the Hotkey to 2.
5. Expand the DPS 2 Mapped Key so you can see the Steps. Click on Step 2.
6. Right click on Actions in the bottom right pane of ISBoxer and choose Keystroke Actions, New Keystroke Action. Set the Target to Window: All w/ Current and the Key Combination to 2.
7. Repeat Steps 3 through 6 for DPS 3 with Hotkey 3 to send 3 and DPS 4 with Hotkey 4 to send 4.

You may also wish to change the Target of the <Interact with Target> Action in Step 1 of those newly-created Mapped Keys from all to the Melee ATG.

Re: IWT FTL DPS keys

Thank you so much for being patient with me I have it working now, My ignorance thought just moving IWT to regular instead of CTM would fix it all, Making the new DPS keys worked like a charm. Thank you Alge, Thank you Lax.
