Siege of Mirkwood doesn't like Innerspace/ISBoxer
Moderator: MiRai
IS build 5071 is now available as a development build, and fixes the Windows XP issue where the non-main windows are frozen. If you're already on the development build, just re-launch IS and let it patch itself before launching your ISBoxer character set.

When you launch LOTRO through Inner Space, The splash screen appears and gets to "Getting data centers" then a popup "Setup Error: Failed to load resources from resource file. Please check your setup". This does not happen when launched normally.
Thanks for your help.
This happened to me on one XP machine that had a broken installation of .NET. See https://lotrosupport.codemasters.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=5079&nav=0,67
attempting dual boxing set up on xp. still having failed to load resources from resource file, plz check your set up despite uninstalling and reinstalling .net 1.1 and 1.1 pk.. i am currently using development patches and instead of using the dual lotro folders formula im using the -usetdm at config screen.
2 weeks of the same...failed to load resources from resource file, plz ck your set up despite uninstalling .net 1.1 and 1.1 pk. I also redid my charachters profiles.. -usetdm method.. ??? Im all ears.
this is seriously annoying since i primarily dual box on lotro and was looking forward to SOM. Any idea when dev goes live cause it certainly isnt working on xp?

Still having same problems here, on two different XP (32bit) machines. Can't get past splash screen. I even used a third party launcher which does not use .NET, it crashes on the XP machines when launched from IS. Works fine on Vista.

Anyone else having a problem where it always reintalls the C++ SP1 patch? It's not a big deal, but it is annoying and wierd. My setup:
Win 7 x64
LOTRO in two directories on two different HDs
Everything works fine except that the turbine launcher reinstalls the patch everytime.
Further testing - This has nothing to do with ISBOXER. It would appear it does this no matter what. I shall look a the regular forums 8)

Mine was doing this too. It just randomly stopped. So I don't really know what gives.
Re: Siege of Mirkwood doesn't like Innerspace/ISBoxer
Ok, I've tried everything listed in this forum and still having trouble. I started with two copies of LOTRO client, renamed the second one "Multibox" and created a new game and new character associated with that game. I can get them to load manually, however not with IS. I made the -usetdm adjustment and still no dice. I then reinstalled my .net 1.1 with sp1 and still not working. Right now with the regular IS version I can get one client to load however I see no evidence that the second client or second instance of the client is even attempting to load. With the Dev version the client won't launch at all. I'm using Vista home premium 32. Any ideas?
thanks.
thanks.

I find sometimes you have to help it launch the 2nd session.
Re: Siege of Mirkwood doesn't like Innerspace/ISBoxer
You're probably looking in the wrong place for the solution to launching a second session.
If I had to guess, one of the launchers is set to continue running in the system tray. If that's the case, just close it, and then tell ISBoxer to launch the second session (re-select the character set and it will launch any missing slots)

Re: Siege of Mirkwood doesn't like Innerspace/ISBoxer
I'm looking over my previous post and I think I left out some important information. First, thank you. I've been using Innerspace for about 5 months now for Lotro and have always had to "help" it launch the second or third client. I have had no trouble with this program at all until SoM. What concerns me most is that when I launch the first client it launches in a perfectly normal and non "Boxer" kind of way. The game never gets pulled into the propper windows layout like it used to. It just opens into the same windowed mode I use for solo play and stays there. No attempts at launching a second client seem to work. (I hadn't thought to look in the system tray but no luck there either.) I have tried to relaunch my character set. It does launch however I get the "Examine Game Data" error that others have reported earlier in this thread.
The above errors only occur on the regular innerspace. With the dev version nothing launches at all. Since everyone else seems to have solved the problem I'm fairly certain its on my end... just can't figure it out.
Again, any help/advice is greatly appreciated.

No..u are not the only one.. innerspace has been out of whack x3wks already.. On XP 2 windows can be opened via coping a 2nd file lotro and changing directories, however i have found the developer type of isbox doesnot work at all (despite installing and uninstalling framework 1.1 and 1.1 sp.)" i have had the distinct pleasure of doing that about 10 times since som to no avail" For u that dont know already, without the dev type of isbox your windows will not "box". So its back to Alt tab until rectified.
Cant begin to tell u how frustrating this has been since i primarily dual box, and find soloing taxing and raiding even more taxing..
