Task bar remaining infront of clients when dual boxed

Hi,

I have been unable to get my eve clients to open in the front of everything else, they did originally but I needed to change some resolutions and something has happened along the way. (tried mirroed, Fullscreen etc)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Task bar remaining infront of clients when dual boxed

Welcome to Windows 7, where the taskbar is permanently set to Always On Top and therefore will remain on top of most windows no matter what (un-maximize your Firefox window and watch it do the same thing). This is one reason why the default setting for the edge to line windows up on is the bottom.

I'm making some changes for ISBoxer 38 (which should be available by next week) that should help with your particular issue without having to change where you're putting your game windows. The change that will specifically help you is an option to set the main region to Always On Top, and keep the setting for "only for game windows" so that when you switch to your browser (etc) the game windows will fall behind it.

In the meantime you can either change your Window Layout to line the small windows up along the bottom, or set up a Mapped Key that modifies the main region for each client.

Setting up a Mapped Key is a bit more involved, but here's how you can do it:
1. Create a Key Map (since you don't have any). Name it something generic, since a Key Map is supposed to be a collection of Mapped Keys and you might decide to add another key for a different purpose later.
2. Assign the Key Map to your Character Set (with the Key Map selected in the top pane, drag your Character Set from the top pane, to the bottom left pane)
3. With the Key Map selected in the top pane, right click on "Mapped Keys" in the bottom left pane and select New Mapped Key, and name it something.
4. With the Mapped Key selected in the bottom left pane, there will be a Hotkey option at the top of the right pane. Click the < and set a Hotkey (e.g. Ctrl+Alt+A or something). You'll hit this Hotkey exactly one time after launching the game (or after Exporting while the game is already up).
5. Expand the Mapped Key in the bottom left pane, so under it you see Steps, 1
6. Select the 1 under Steps, so on the right you see "Step, Actions"
7. Right click on "Actions" in the right pane and under Window Actions select New Window Style Action
8. Set the "Target" drop-down box to "Window:All w/ Current"
9. Set the "Style to change" box to Foreground
10. Check the "Always On Top" box, which will already default to "On" next to it (you want that to be On)
11. That's it, do a File, Export.
12. To use your new Hotkey, just hit it once after launching, and then switch between the windows. After switching one time, any window put in the main region should now be on top of the task bar.
