exefile.exe Not updated by new launcher - issues

Ok so with the old launcher being discontinued as of the end of this month
i decided to change to using the exefile.exe as many have

i found today that the New Launcher doesn't update the client launched by the exefile.exe

so once the old launcher goes offline i need to get isboxer working with the new multi launch launcher

has anyone had success with that yet ??

or know of a work around that doesn't involve the old launcher doing updates as that wont work soon

also of note a fresh install of eve from the new launcher doesn't install the exefile.exe

A fresh install of EVE for me installed all the appropriate files, including this one: D:\Games\EVE\SharedCache\tq\bin\exefile.exe. I can launch EVE from that with no issues.

Lax made a couple of updates to Inner Space too, so it should now work with the new EVE launcher... You might need the development build to get those changes.

You can get the development build by right clicking the Inner Space icon in the system tray, selecting the Use Development Releases (or if you are on an old build this might be referred to as Test patches), Applying, then right click the Inner Space icon, selecting Exit, then reloading Inner Space.

I tried today, and pointed to that file, and it didn't update...however, the old launcher did update it, so I must not have found the right .exe file. mine was in "C:\ProgramData\CCP\EVE\SharedCache\tq\bin"

I have not found that anywhere else. If I uninstall both launchers, and reinstall the new one, will I lose my windows settings, if I backed them up from the settings folder here: "C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_(x86)_ccp_eve_tranquility\settings"?

Does the new installer hold the settings profiles elsewhere?

I'm not sure I understand your query correctly (well some of it anyway). Update what???

You can point Inner Space at the exefile.exe, and use this to launch your game from Inner Space. It will not patch your game, if your game needs patching. You will need to do this via the launcher, which you can launch from outside of Inner Space.

If you added exefile.exe as a new profile to Inner Space, then you will need to update your characters in ISBoxer to use the new profile. You can select each character in ISBoxer (in the top left, under the Characters node), and then adjust the game/game profile dropdowns in the lower right, as necessary.

For me, the "new" launcher stores the settings in C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\d_games_eve_sharedcache_tq_tranquility\settings_Default
part of this file path is dependant on the installation folder for EVE. No idea why I got a _Default at the end though. Just lucky I guess.

I did all that according to the previous posts (and your bit about finding where to change the profile was a nice reminder as it took me a bit to remember where it is, so hopefully it won't brutalize others).

So having created the new profile, and pointing the characters to it, and verifying I pointed to the .exe file I mentioned in my last post I thought I was good.

However, when I opened the new launcher this morning and verified it updated my game, I then launched my accounts through innerspace. The accounts all showed that tranquility was not available because my client was not updated (or some language similar). I then closed all my clients, and opened the old launcher and allowed it to update. Then I relaunched my clients through innerspace and was able to access tranquility.

I am guessing this means that I am pointing to the wrong .exe file, but I cannot find where the one for the new launcher is. Is there a way to see where the new launcher points to? I pointed to a string that looked like what everybody else was saying the new launcher is (and definitely not where my old profile points, which I know is the functioning old one). I guess this could also mean my profile isn't setup right, or my characters aren't pointing to the right profile, but I also checked that this morning and I seem to be pointing to the right places.

I asked the question about settings, as I was contemplating uninstalling both launchers and starting fresh to avoid future confusion when I memory wipe all of this.

Open an EVE client normally and press Ctrl+Shift+Escape to bring up Task Manager. Click the Details tab, and find exefile.exe; right click it, and select Open File Location. This should give you what you're looking for.

There is also an option in the Task Manager Details tab to show a column for "Image path name" which I like to enable, personally.

....and, I am an idiot, I did all the things except the final "export ALL to innerspace" from the ISboxer toolkit....doh

all good now (took a sec to realize there was a default "settings" folder in the local files that I needed to overwrite with my backed up one to get the client settings right, I tried migrating and realized launching from the exefile doesn't care about the new folders you create)

I did all of this and still getting error. Incompatible build. I have opened the exe's then pointed them to Innerspace. Innerspace opens it and still, unable to connect to port 2600 or whatever. I have installed a new EVE client on desktop in sep. folder and tried to run from there as well. I'm getting the same error message. I don't understand why I can open the exe with my mouse but when I open it with Innerspace it gives error.

Let me also add that when I open innerspace, right click eve default etc thats in innerspace, the same I have for the games, it WILL open correctly. But when I use that same path in character sets it opens something else?
