Accusations of cheating

Every now and then I get accused of botting/cheating in local for multiboxing. Here is todays example:

EVE System > Channel changed to Local : Jinizu

Bellart > GL on MB FArm ;p
Ba Ra > What is a NB farm?

What do you think is the best way to respond to accusations of cheating? The guys in the example above were upset about losing a contested vanguard site. I guess it's probably best not to respond? What do you think?

This simple answer is don't rise to it. The only people you really need to respond to are the GM's. CCP have stated their stance and it does not appear to have changed. The EULA and TOS say the same things now as they did in 2010, with the exact same wording.


If you really feel aggrieved yourself, you could report the others for "griefing" you for playing in a style that CCP have said is OK provided you follow their rules, and they are ruining your enjoyment of the game.
That is against the Rules of Conduct. Rule 1 as they are threatening you with the wrath of the GM's, causing anxiety and reducing your enjoyment, which is then violating Rule 16.

Of course you could rise above it, and just ignore the ignoramuses.

Yup, ignore it. The winner is always cheating, the loser is always bad, etc etc etc.

Eve Rule #1... Never talk in local

I suggest all of the above. To be honest I expected higher quality of players in this game but ignorant people are every where and they are... Wait for it.....ignorant.

Join a Null sec corp. If they have a problem with it then find another. I am a part of Goon Swarm and you can't fathom how many of us are boxers.

It has been said in the past that you should respond by telling them exactly what you are doing (Using isboxer) and be transparent so there is no room for misinterpretation by GMs should they report you. You are on the right side of the fence so there's no need to be defensive. I personally just ignore people like this, however. It's up to you. As someone above said the only people whom you really need to respond to are game masters.
