Including Window for VLC

Hey guys,

Recently began setting up ISBoxer to do some mining with my 4 toons, things going well, getting all the interface window sin the same spot seems the greatest hurdle :)

The question I have is whether it is possible to setup a Window Layout that will create a window in which VLC will adhere to?

At the moment i have 2 displays, Display 1 I have a full screen window for EVE which I broadcast to 3 other windows I have running at the bottom of my second monitor and above these 3 windows on Display 2 I have VLC running as I generally watch tv shows/movies when mining. Unfortunately due to the fact VLC isn't full screened when a TV show changes it re-sizes itself to fix the media and i then have to stretch it back out to fill the gap above the 3 windows.

I am wondering if there is a way to create a Window layout that includes VLC locked into a 5th window, tied to the Windowlayout?

My second query is I have a 5th toon I use for Hauling but at the moment I log him in independent of my miners due to the fact I don't want the mining broadcast commands to affect his window but at this stage I can not find an option that will exclude his window from receiving Broadcasted commands from the primary window.

This may be a simple option I am yet to find but I have had no luck so far.

Any assistance will be appreciated, thanks!

Re: Including Window for VLC

1. Add VLC as a "game" to Innerspace, then add a VLC character . Put this in a window region that will be taking up the little corner you have free.

2.a. Action Target Groups.. http://isboxer.com/wiki/Action_Target_Groups
2.b. Specific Targetting. http://isboxer.com/wiki/Target
2.c. http://isboxer.com/wiki/FAQ#How_do_I_br ... _others.3F

EDIT:
Also, You will probably want to tick the "Ignore keyboard/mouse broadcasts sent to this character" tickbox on the VLC character. You could also use this for your non-miner. It is rubbish way of doing it, but it would be quick.

Re: Including Window for VLC

Thanks jonesy, will work through those Wiki's now.

One last quesiton, I just found the page in regards to copying the core_user_#####.dat file. The page refers to copying the file to a different machine, does it work the same if I simply copy the data inside the file and paste it over the data inside the other characters core_user_#####.dat files?

So that way I can setup the Overview tabs/window positions etc on my main client then simply copy the .dat file information across to the other characters and all should work?

Just don't want to go breaking everything :)

Re: Including Window for VLC

Well, for starters I'd try the program mentioned here first: http://community.eveonline.com/news/dev ... ight-garpa

And second there are specific instructions here: viewtopic.php?p=26398#p26398 for what you need to do, and it is not necessarily to another machine (wouldn't matter anyway, the process is still the same).

As for specific portion edits. You can do whatever method you feel happiest with. I don't play Eve, so no idea whether file editing would work. I imagine it is hard which is why people have come up with another method.

Re: Including Window for VLC

This might not be EXACTLY what you're looking for, but it might work. You can use Other Window Source to add your movies or tv shows to your DXnothing windows (Or even your clients)

There's a tutorial for it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWjyvbhdrOM
or on the wiki here:
http://isboxer.com/wiki/Other_Window_Source
I want YOU! To ask me questions
Tell me what you want a tutorial on in my request thread Here
