Mouse Problems

Ok I followed the guide at viewtopic.php?f=21&t=6

Going to run 3 copies of EVE:

ISBoxer,InnerSpace Software Install - OK
ISBoxer Toolkit Config - OK
Custom NVidia Resolution - OK
Reconfigured EVE for Winwoed Mode - OK
Reconfigured EVE for Custom Resolution - OK

I'm using an AutoLayout with 4 windows (session 1 docking to slot 2):

Window 1: 1440x1080
Window 2: 480x360
Window 3: 480x360
Window 3: 480x360

You'll note that the 3 small windows are the same aspect ratio as the main window.

THE PROBLEM

Whenever I use the mouse in the main window area it's off by a small amount. Towards the bottom of the screen the actual mouse position seems to be slightly below the mouse cursor. Towards the top of the screen the actual mouse position seems to be slightly above the mouse cursor. The mouse cursor will be slightly above the button or menu when it lights up. The mouse cursor looks to be about 20pixels too high or so. For example: While my mouse is over the password box it highlights the connect button.

I can't use this software like this. EVE is so mouse dependent and the menu/button positioning so precise that I can't be constantly guessing at mouse positioning.

Any tips on how to fix this? I searched the forums but didn't find anything.

I tried searching the forums but only found this which didn't fix the issue: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=404&p=1639&hilit=mouse+position+problem#p1639

Re: Mouse Problems

Oh... one other thing.

When I troubleshoot by changing the window sizes to be smaller than the maximum height of my display... the main window always stretches to be the maximum height.

So for example my display is 1080 tall. If I set the main window to be 1440x900 resolution (a standard display resolution for laptops so it's already in nvidia/eve) ... the display stretches to be 1080 tall.

EDIT: I figured this part out. It's because the Desired Rendering Size was set to 1080 when I was testing with the 900 height window.

Re: Mouse Problems

More testing:

I set EVE to a 1920x1080 the way I normally have it running.

I created a new Character Set & Window Layout with just a single region set to 1920x1080 with "Remove border" set.

The mouse with just a single window does the same thing. It's just slightly off. About 20 pixels too high or so.

Re: Mouse Problems

More testing:

Changed EVE to 1024x768.

Changed Region 1 to 1024x768 and unchecked "remove border"

Mouse works as expected. No issues.

Re: Mouse Problems

So will EVE only work with window border on?

Re: Mouse Problems

I did an update to the IS development build yesterday to solve EVE mouse issues.

To try it, right click IS, select Patcher, check "Download development (test) patches", then close and restart IS.
