Help on setting up mining accounts

Heya,

I gotten to the point where I can log into the game with ISboxer and have the broadcast thing on for all the clients. My knowledge of anything else though, is well...non-existent.

What I am trying to do, is simply thus,

5 Miner Accounts (shooting at different rocks IF possible)
1 Booster/Hauler (warps in, collects cans, goes back to POS to store ore in)
Screen space for media such as youtube and netflix (those cycle timers can take awhile ;)

I only have 1 monitor and 1 computer.

Edit:

I suppose I need to get more detailed. What I really want to do is this,

A main client miner that can see and if needed, swap over to the other miners. The main client to always broadcast in the area of the overview, module area, selection box, and drones. But not broadcast into the left side, so I can talk away without having to remember to turn off broadcasting and what not.

The other miner clients to never broadcast. If I swap over there to do an adjustment/correction, I dont need the other miners doing the same thing.

The Hauler/booster never receiving or transmitting broadcasts.

Should be a bit better on what I "want" to do.

Or point me to a guide that explains ISBoxer in EVE-related terms

Re: Help on setting up mining accounts

I will try to help the best I can.

First setup your windows for your toons like this: one main window and on the right or left side of that window make it smaller sized windows. ISBoxer has preset window positions that will help you with this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pA3MqP6LAAg - Window Layouts via the wizard

Once you get your windows setup and you have a general understanding of how to turn on off the broadcast keys (default are the AAA keys upper left). I can tell you how to setup one toon miner or whatever and then take that layout and make it so every other toon has that layout. This will help when you are trying to lock on the same targets. Now if you are EVE new... all of this will be a bit more difficult since you won't have a good understanding of EvE but ...

I started with two character all of which are on 1 PC and one monitor even though I have two monitors. I now use the other monitor for spill over of characters since my 1st monitor is now filled up (for the most part).

You can quickly pan through windows with the CTRL-ALT-1, 2, 3, 4 etc keys. CTRL-ALT-1 = character #1, CTRL-ALT-2 = character #2, etc. unless you stack one window on top of the other, you really won't need this. I suggest NOT stacking the windows so you can get a feel for ISBOXER then later coming back and upgrading your setup (if you wish). i.e. videoFX feeds.

I run 9 characters on one PC with most of them (minus 3 toons) on one monitor. Once you get all your characters to have the same overview / window positions as the primary #1 slot guy then you can make all the other windows very small because ISBOXER does the ratios of big to small so everything in your main (larger) window is directly related to your smaller windows.

Setup your one miners with whatever tabs, overview settings you want for not only that one miner but the rest of them. including: inventory in dock, active ship ore hold, fleet window, market window, asset window, and on and on. its tedious but once you do this once. you wont have to do it again unless you want to.

Watch a few videos on you tube then once your main character window is done I'll write about how to copy over those settings to the rest of your miners / toons

Re: Help on setting up mining accounts

Fast note:

best way to do different roids is this:

when making your one main guy to populate to other miners. make a few extra tabs.

One tab with nothing but: veldspar, one for scordite, etc.

or you can mix them one tab with veldspar and scorite and another tab for plag and whatever else.... this way you can CTRL-ALT-... to whatever character and have it setup for a different type of roid and when you click on the main guy he will be clicking on one type of ore while the other guys are clicking on another type.

:) I've been playing EvE, on and off, since beta.

I run my booster and hauler seperate from the ISBOXER miners, unless someone else has a better setup. please post it.
