Eve Online Launcher for ISBoxer

Admittedly, I am not great at getting things to work correctly right off the bat. I have managed to setup the ISBoxer launcher to run my accounts but for some reason it simply opens up all the accounts in full screen stacked on one monitor. It should open up with the two monitor setup with the multiple accounts windowed. I cannot figure out what I am missing.

any help appreciated.

Re: Eve Online Launcher for ISBoxer

The instructions on use are covered on the GitHub page for the launcher, and there is an expanded version of the step by step process listed on this thread.

From the sounds of it, you are launching your team via the ISBoxerEVELauncher, which is not using ISBoxer, nor it's window layout. You should be right clicking on the Inner Space icon, select ISBoxer Character Sets, and then your Team name.

Re: Eve Online Launcher for ISBoxer

I have a couple of questions and comments.

I am trying to setup a 10 toon fleet and have had the following issues.

1) once all of the fleet windows were launched, the individual screens started to switch uncontrollably. I attributed this to my computer video card starting to overload. I flipped each eve toon to the setting to the memory saving graphic setting. Has anyone had this issue?

2) is there a way to save a shortcut to desktop for a character set to launch?

3) How do I get the isboxer eve launcher to not always ask me to log in each time a client starts?

Thanks all

Doesn't sound familiar, no.

It sounds like it could be Window Layout related? Did reduced settings change the behavior?

2) is there a way to save a shortcut to desktop for a character set to launch?

In the top left pane in ISBoxer Toolkit, under Character Sets, right click yours and select "Create Desktop Shortcut"

3) How do I get the isboxer eve launcher to not always ask me to log in each time a client starts?

Before launching your ISBoxer Character Set, manually launch an instance of ISBoxer EVE Launcher as Administrator. Enter your Master Password in this instance of ISBoxer EVE Launcher. (Assuming, of course, you have already ticked the box to save passwords!)

After doing so, your other ISBoxer EVE Launcher instances should receive the Master Password from your already-running ISBoxer EVE Launcher instance, so it should not ask again. When you launch your ISBoxer Character Set, there should be no additional popups (unless some account password has not yet been entered/saved, or there is a 2FA requirement, etc).

Re: Eve Online Launcher for ISBoxer

Thanks so much for the help.

Two more questions.

1) When one of the game client crashes or when I close it myself, is there a way to launch just that one client again and have it fit back into the available window layout. To date I must close all clients and restart it all.

2) My current windows layout is supposed to Avoid taskbar but when I run the setup, I cannot mouse over to get back to my tasks bar. The only way to get back to my desktop is to alt tab to already open windows.

Cheers

Why do you "have to" close all clients?

All you should have to do is select your Character Set for launching again. ISBoxer determines which characters are already running, and fills in the missing ones. You can also pick just the missing Slot from the Inner Space menu as well.

2) My current windows layout is supposed to Avoid taskbar but when I run the setup, I cannot mouse over to get back to my tasks bar. The only way to get back to my desktop is to alt tab to already open windows.

It sounds like your Window Layout isn't actually avoiding the taskbar then? Regardless of whether it says it avoids the taskbar or not, the preview picture should be accurate; if it is avoiding the taskbar, then you will see a blue area in the Window Layout preview.

Right click your Window Layout in the top left pane in ISBoxer, select "Copy Window Layout to Clipboard" then paste it here for me, and I can take a look.

Re: Eve Online Launcher for ISBoxer

That is a little odd. It says in there the Working Area of the monitor is 1920x1080, which is why it is not avoiding the task bar. I've tried the same Window Layout myself, and it works as advertised when I run the Wizard, so perhaps it is not getting the correct sizing back from Windows?? Normal taskbar size these days is about 40 pixels, although it can range from 30 - 50 pixels depending on the current theme, or whether you have resized the taskbar manually.

Are you changing the Working Area in the monitors collection in the Window Layout Wizard? If you are selecting an Avoid Taskbar option you shouldn't, or perhaps you need to. (edit: Lax also pointed out if your taskbar is set to autohide, then the working area will be the full screen, because the taskbar will be hidden, i.e. 0 pixels, when it tries to detect it's height).

Other than that, when running the Wizard you should see this... note the blue bands which are 1. because the main region is avoiding the taskbar, and 2. because the other regions are maintaining the aspect ratio which requires leaving a band on that monitor too.
Image

If you don't see the blue bands, try setting the Avoid Taskbar option on the right there to True. If that doesn't work, you can select the Monitors collection on the right there, click on the ... button which will appear, and set the Working Area
Image

if you want to do it manually, you can shrink down the main region to 1920x1040 in your Window Layout and it should work. To do so, select the your WIndow Layout in the top left, in the lower left, select the Regions node, in the lower right, select the region that is covering the task bar (presumably region 1), and set it's size to 1920x1040.
To maintain aspect ratio for the smaller regions, select each one and take half of the pixels from the height that were removed from the main region.
If you don't want the smaller regions to maintain the exact ratio it shouldn't matter. If it does, i.e. your mouse it not positioning correctly on the smaller windows when broadcasting, you can select Repeater Profiles -> Default in the top left, and in the lower right, set the cursor positioning mode to one of the Scaled options in the dropdown.

Re: Eve Online Launcher for ISBoxer

I changed the layout size manually and it is now working.

Thanks for your help.

Still having same issue with having to retype my master password into the isboxer eve launcher though.

Re: Eve Online Launcher for ISBoxer

As Lax posted earlier, and which is on the instructions on the GitHub site.
Lax wrote:Before launching your ISBoxer Character Set, manually launch an instance of ISBoxer EVE Launcher as Administrator. Enter your Master Password in this instance of ISBoxer EVE Launcher. (Assuming, of course, you have already ticked the box to save passwords!)
This has been tested quite extensively by other users, and provided you have the current version (1.0.0.12), rather than an older one, then it should work fine for you too.

If you are following correctly, i.e. before launching your team from Inner Space, right click the icon on your desktop for ISBoxer EVE Launcher (you did create one right?), and selecting Run As Administrator, logging in with your master password, and then finally launching your team from the Inner Space right click menu (not from the ISBoxer EVE Launcher - yes I know you can, but that's dynamic mode, and you'll probably find it preferable to not use it), it should all work as advertised.
