Solving multi-ship cloaking

Yarr!

I'm currently scouting around in WH space looking for a juicy C3 with a HS or C4 static for Mokoi and myself to make a home in. As I've been doing this I've been pondering how to solve getting your entire fleet of 5 or 10 ships to cloak without decloaking everyone. Since you can't use the cloak at all if you're within 2k of another object, how do you get your fleet to cloak? Have them each daisy-chain keep-at-3km or what?

I'm keenly interested in solving this problem as our current plan is to run RR Tengu fleets with the covert ops reconfiguration subsystem, for funsies :)

Re: Solving multi-ship cloaking

Accelerate all ships
move the camera a bit on each
then cloak.

Re: Solving multi-ship cloaking

I'd like to figure out a better "scatter" ability myself, but what I have been doing to scatter my 10 is turn broadcasting on, wiggle the camera a bit and double click in a random area of space. It's been pretty effective but not always reliable for what you're after as sometimes a couple of windows will have pretty similar alignment and the ships will remain close. I suppose setting a daisy-chain of "keep at range", or alternatively, simply keeping at range/orbiting a central object (wormhole, asteroid belt, etc) at a distance somewhat higher than decloaking distance is worth trying out as well.

In the particular case of entering a new wormhole, you could set up a round-robin command first broadcasting "E" (keep at range) and then "F1" (or whatever slot your cloak was in), so that each character would decloak and recloak in sequence. Since the post-jump cloak can't be broken by proximity that *should* work, but it won't solve cloaking in any other situations.

Re: Solving multi-ship cloaking

or simply create a spot in space to warp too.

Each char its own spot.
Doesnt have to be in the same spot as any of the other chars.
This gives two advantages,
1st - your scattered all over the system, less chance of loosing the whole lot
2nd - you can never decloak each other

once you hit warp and tell them to cloak, you can watch all your windows incase one of them does get found, but unlikely.
when its clear, warp to a single member of the squad at 10km and off you go again.

You need to have the watchlist setup,
you need each char to have the same personal bookmarks in the system layout the same.
