Broadcasting functionality and other questions
Hello everyone! I just started using ISBoxer a couple of days ago (excellent program!), I've worked my way through some options and have built a window layout that I like, but it's not performing quite correctly, I have been unsuccessful troubleshooting it.
I'm posting this here in the EVE section as these are somewhat EVE-specific problems since most of the documentation out there seems to note that EVE is one of the few programs that uses a lot of dxnothing, VideoFX, and broadcasting options.
I have my window layout based on the "Stacked Full Screen on \\.\DISPLAY1 (No Swapping, Avoid Taskbar)" preset - all of the full screen windows are shrunk down from the top a little, I've placed a dxnothing window above the main window and another dxnothing window on my secondary monitor. I've set up a number of VideoFX sources (one for modules, one to monitor tank, and one to monitor targets for each character) and set up viewers in the dxnothing windows.
The functionality I am after is to have broadcasting only ever take place from my primary character, is1, and to be toggle-able as per the normal functionality. I want the VideoFX viewers in the dxnothing windows to be interactive, so if a module is offline in one character I can quickly turn it on from the dxnothing window without worrying about that command being broadcast to other characters and subsequently shutting off modules. I'd also like to be able to switch to a character, adjust something manually on that window, and switch back (just via ctrl+alt+1-9 is fine) without having to worry about sending out accidental broadcasts.
The functionality I'm currently getting is a little more confusing. Sometimes I turn broadcasting off, switch to another character and back, type something and somehow manage to broadcast the keystrokes to every character anyway. When I interact with the modules in my dxnothing window, the command is broadcasted to all of the characters even if I have manually gone through window by window and toggled broadcasting off. I'm sure it has something to do with either how I set up my repeater profile or window layout, but I can't quite troubleshoot it.
I was thinking perhaps I could get part of the functionality I want through action groups - If I set my first character to a group that broadcasts to another group (which contains all of my remaining characters), and the second group had no ability to broadcast at all, that seems like it would work well, but I can't really figure out how to set up action target groups this way. So-far I've placed my is1 character into a group called "FC" and the others into a "DPS" group but after that I got kind of lost, as there seem to be no more options for action target groups besides a description.
Many thanks!
