Re: 2 of 3 accounts

this worked for me upon hitting a key... What I would like to do is only activate this when I hold down a key rather than toggle it on/off. I did this once before on a desktop but I am traveling and trying to play on my laptop...

Any ideas on how to make this happen?

EDIT: I did this by setting the command to work upon key press or release... Not sure if that is how I did it previously. Will keep testing but seems to work at first blush...

Yes, this is the correct method. It gets toggled on when you press the key and toggled off when you release the key, which effectively means it is on while the key is held down.

Re: 2 of 3 accounts

ive used the mouse and keyboard repeaters for the last year or so without issue.
i run 15 miners using isboxer setup while i then use upto 5 others in a low graphics window settings.
I noticed i could run all this under an isboxer setting with the aim to having the miners with repeaters and the non miners always without.

ive recently tried setting up a key map using the action target group method
I have created the two action groups, miners and non miners
When the key map is active, its working as intended, all the miners are repeating and the non miners are not.

The problem i have atm is

When mining, sometimes i need to turn off the mouse/keyboard repeater while i do something on char 1.
this normall is done by "ctrl+\" (turn off all repeats)
this will turn off the repeats as intended for all the miners
however the non miners then activate into a mouse and keyboard repeat.

If i goto one of the non miner screen and press ctrl+\ it then turns it off but puts it back to the miners.

i have tried adding a step to the keymap to turn off repeats for the non miners but this doesnt seem to be solving the issue so i assume i am setting it wrong.
any help or advice would be great as this is fustrating the hell outta me. i know im missing something but am unable to find it.

My config. - (slot 1 to 15)15 miners, ( slot 16 to 20) 5 non miners

Re: 2 of 3 accounts

I'm not 100% sure what you are trying to do based upon your description.

I think all you need to do is change the Action in Step 2 of the Activate Repeat Mapped Key to "Repeater mouse Off keyboard Off -> Miners", i.e. change the target of that action from "Group (all of):Non Miners" to "Group (all of):Miners". Then, the first time you press Shift+Alt+R you should be repeating just to your miners and the second time you press Shift+Alt+R you will stop repeating to your miners.

Ctrl+\ (set under Hotkeys in your Repeater Profile) does not work as you have described. Instead it toggles (turns on if off and off if on) both Keyboard and Mouse Repeating in all Windows, and is not suitable for the purpose you described.

There are potentially some other issues with your Activate Repeat Mapped Key so let us know if that doesn't give you the behaviour you are after.

Re: 2 of 3 accounts

this is already setup in step 2 with all repeaters off as you have mentioned to the 2nd non miners group.

This gives me
15 miners with repeats
5 non miners without repeats

this works for that part of the function that i wanted as i said it did. i normally have the repeaters constantly on for the miners and i only turn it off to fix issues or respond to chat, when i press ctrl+\ (which i used when just having the repeaters setup without a keymap, i understand how that part works) i get this :-

Slots 1 to 15 repeaters are turned off
but
Slots 16 to 20 then have a repeater turned on, this shouldnt be happening and i am not sure why.

when i turn off the repeater, i need all 20 to not repeat

sometimes i need to go through the miners to change cans round seperately due to a game bug that ghosts cans. Turning off the repeater to all the miners is required so i can do this. Also if something has turned off a mining laser and needs to be reactivated, etc.

hope this makes it clearer, i not sure how else to explain it.

Re: 2 of 3 accounts

just noticed the change to non-miners and miners indicated in your repsonce, trying that now.

ok so
that seems to have sorted that issue.

also i picked up that i now need to use the SHIFT+ALT+R to turn on and off repeaters when i need to rather than using the CTRL+\ that i was used to using.

if you have the time, energy and intrest, id be happy to be directed on where the other areas are setup wrong or maybe problematic.

Thanks for the direction.
it not makes a big difference on the way i can play the game a little more effiecently.

Re: 2 of 3 accounts

I'd like to go even further and create 3 independent groups. However, this seems to cause some trouble in the target mechanics as the broadcast is transferred to members of the other group as well.

Is there another solution to adress the three different groups seperately?

No, there is actually the same solution to address 3 different groups separately. :)

You want 3 Action Target Groups, and 3 Repeater Target Actions. Each Repeater Target Action tells one Action Target Group to broadcast amongst themselves.

Like...
#1: Target="Group (all of): Miners", New Repeater Target="Group (others in): Miners"
#2: Target="Group (all of): Haulers", New Repeater Target="Group (others in): Haulers"
#3: Target="Group (all of): Defenders", New Repeater Target="Group (others in): Defenders"

You can put all 3 of these in your broadcasting toggle (e.g. Activate Repeat, or a customized copy of it), and then each of the 3 groups will independently broadcast between themselves, leaving the other groups out entirely. The only way there could be any overlap is if a "Character" belongs to more than one of the ATGs.

Re: 2 of 3 accounts

I set this up according to the second set of instructions and it worked. Once. The next time I activated broadcast it went back to broadcasting to all windows. What did I do wrong? Do I need to setup a separate hotkey for the Targetted action?
