Menus and Menu Actions

I thought I'd open a new thread on this for clarity. Firescue17 mentioned something today I found interesting:

firescue17 wrote:The G15 Guide was superseded by Menus and Menu Actions. It will still work, but ISBoxer has moved beyond that particular method.

I went looking for a guide "Menus and Menu Actions" and came up empty, so I assume this means the actual Menu and Menu Actions in ISBoxer. But I could swear that I saw Menu State Actions there. In any event, I'm interested in the current technique. Where I would I look / what am I looking for? And while I'm at it, what was the improvement. The G15 guide looks pretty great, I'm not sure how one could improve upon it (especially with the video demo).

Re: Menus and Menu Actions

There is a forum on Menus, and it has gems like this one from Firescue17 viewtopic.php?f=44&t=3399 although this is using Clickbars rather than Menus*.

This TIBWidget one which uses Menus is very good (ok, this is really setup for WOW, but the concept behind it was a good primer for me). I ended up pulling it apart (I.e. loading it into an empty profile and figuring out how it ticked by re-implementing it) and making my own using this as a guide.

edit:
* I should have read through it first so I didn't have to fix this up.

Re: Menus and Menu Actions

Yeah, I've read that unlimited hotkey one. I kind of mixed it with the G15 guide, which might be causing problems. I'll sort that out later. Thanks for clarifying things, I'm not that far away.

I'm still trying to puzzle out the keybindings. The latest template does not have any character sets under the keymaps. I think they are added during launch by the Virtual Mapped Keys.

I'm awaiting confirmation on my belief that the template is using strings like "CLR" to be a character-name. The character-template appears to be where the lowest-level bindings are. I wish I had a few more example bindings for this section (in addition to "invite me to group 1") but I'm assuming they are general things like "Big Nuke" which gets mapped to a spell gem. And then as the character levels we replace the spell in the gem.

PS: Just noticed that "199 Spellcasting" has the /cast commands. So "Big Nuke" gets mapped to "Cast 1" in Spellcasting
