general chat in everquest

Hi guys, after a while the universal chat service in everquest stops working on my 3 boxes. Eventually it starts up again but then will stop. I notice if I play without the boxing software it doesnt go down at all. Does anyone have a fix for this?

This is not related to ISBoxer in any manner. There are numerous threads spanning years on the SoE forums regarding the UCS.

must be a coincidence then as I run a game simultaneously without boxing software and it doesnt drop out whereas the boxed ones do. Guess theres no fix then

i thought it might have been due to running so many accounts at once, but im clueless

The UCS runs on separate servers from the game world. Essentially the servers get full and whomever is last in the queue gets kicked upon zoning; or else they flat out crash and everyone loses the chat connection. This is why channels are limited to 400 players before spawning a new channel. Another one of the joys of an archaic platform
