Walking -- is it really this hard?

New user here so hopefully I am missing something, but I am beginning to wonder what's the purpose of the formations? As far as I can tell they don't work in EQ. Do I need to autofollow each to main toon? Or can I really have the toons walk (and stay) next to each other?

Even if they did work it looks like corners and trees will make them unusable in a lot of cases, unless there is a stack all of my characters on top of each other option.

Help -- please tell me I am missing something here.

Re: Walking -- is it really this hard?

In order to move your characters together, each one needs constant adjustment, individually. For example, if you wanted to stay in formation and turn left, the guys on the left need to move at a slower rate than the guys on the right -- not happening. Or say you want to just move everyone forward, so you face them in what you think is the same direction and put them on autorun -- and find out they really aren't facing in the same direction.

In order to move your characters together, you MUST use auto-follow. There is no other way, you can't keep them together if you're broadcasting your movement keys, mouselook, etc. Keep broadcasting off, and have them all auto-follow someone.
