I can't seem to get eq to run thru innerspace. everytime i load my character sets i get the hourglass like it's running then i get the everquest.exe crash report. can someone please try to help me
Re: everquest crashing
You should be using the "EverQuest No Patch" Game Profile that skips the EQ patcher, and then you can't possibly get an EverQuest.exe crash report.
If you don't have this because Inner Space didn't auto-detect the game for you, you can add it manually. Right click IS, select Add Game, point it at eqgame.exe and in the parameters box put "patchme" with no quotes

I don't know a specific reason you might get this, other than interference from other running programs. Most commonly, it'd be from a poorly implemented "LSP", which would be part of network-related software. The most recent ones I've had to recommend uninstalling are SpeedBit, and NVIDIA firewall.
To see if this is the problem or if I can identify some other software that might be interfering, grab this download: http://download.cnet.com/Trend-Micro-HijackThis/3000-8022_4-10227353.html
When you run it, there's a big button at the top that's selected by default that says "Scan and save a log" -- do this, it takes like 2 seconds or less, then paste me the log. You can paste it on privatepaste.com (paste in box, click save) and then just provide a link to it

Re: everquest crashing
It's most likely the CA Internet Security Suite. I don't really like suggesting anyone disable their security software, but I don't see anything else that really pops out.
You can at least temporarily disable it to see if it is causing the problem or not, and then there might be some options you can fiddle with to fix it (although I don't really have any suggestions as to which options that might be). If you do want to try this, you'll have to shut down the software and then also stop a handful of services:
To disable these services, you can right click on your Computer in the Start menu and select Manage. When the management program comes up there's a list on the left and at the bottom it says Services and Applications. Expand that and click on Services underneath it. Then on the right, there's a list of all the services installed on your PC. Look for all 7 of the services I listed above, they'd be under the actual name that comes after "Service:" like .. "HIPS PolicyManager". Then just right click on each one and select Stop.
