Unable to validate ID and PW in EQ

Unable to log in anymore.

I am unable to login to EQ. I get the login page, I enter my ID and PW and it says they are not valid. I go to the desktop launcher and I can login fine. This affects all my accounts within EQ. I have rebuilt my character sets to see if that is the issue and it does not fix it.

Any thoughts?

Re: Unable to validate ID and PW in EQ

Several people have begun reporting that they need to switch to using the launcher (when using Inner Space) in order to log in. There is no known reason for why it's happening, or what is different between accounts.

Assuming EverQuest was detected by Inner Space, you should be able to just expand the Character tree in ISBoxer, select the problem character(s), and change the game and game profile associated with them (in the bottom right) to use the launcher (not the No Patch profile).

If you don't have said game profile available, then you will need to add the launcher executable to Inner Space just as you would any other game, and then ensure that that profile is assigned in the same manner as described above.

Re: Unable to validate ID and PW in EQ

Ahhh, just figured it out. When I recreate my character sets using the tools invis overlay versus the 1-= menu over my existing tool bar option it works and login is successfu.

Why? I have zero idea, but it does.

Re: Unable to validate ID and PW in EQ

You need to disable Key Maps when entering your password.
Not that I'm sure why the overlay would make a difference vs the invisible option. If you didn't select to have them at all I could understand it, but they do the same thing otherwise, just one has a UI component to it.

Re: Unable to validate ID and PW in EQ

Weird, I have never disabled those before and always been able to login. But yet again your wisdom prevails.... I am able to login using my other character sets no problem ty.

Now back to my click bar name problem.

Thanks for the help gang.

Cheers
