Follow and assist problems

Hello all,

I'm having problems with setting up follow and assist in isboxer to where all I do is press the ctrl+f2 and all of my boxes follow / assist. I watched the mirai video and followed alge's instructions as well, but cannot seem to get it functional. I eventually would like to get it to work as shown in alge's vids, and firescue's as well.

Any help is appreciated!

This profile is pretty barebones so far, I just started trying to configure things a couple days ago. Here is the privatepaste if someone could look at it please!

Re: Follow and assist problems

Follow and Assist aren't working because your profile has none of the default Key Maps (or Variable Keystrokes), which set up the actual follow and assist functionality. All you've got are a couple custom Variable Keystrokes; the only thing these do is tell ISBoxer what your Game Key Bindings are for those things, so you've told it that "Assist Target" is Ctrl+F1 in the game and that "Follow" is Ctrl+F2 in the game.

To get it working properly, here is what I would do.
1. Go into the File menu and select Clear. Let it clear everything out.
2. Use the Quick Setup Wizard again
3. On the final page of the wizard...
* leave the style set to "MMO - Standard"
* assign whatever Hotkeys YOU WANT TO PUSH (does not need to match the in-game Key Bindings) in the Hotkeys tab; by default Assist is Alt+A and Follow is Alt+F
* In the Game Key Bindings tab, click the "Auto-fill" button to fill in the targeting table (or manually fill it in) so that ISBoxer knows exactly which key corresponds to targeting which guys in the game (F1 is always themselves, F2 F3 F4 should target the other windows)
* Also in the Game Key Bindings tab, fill in the Key Bindings for Follow Target and Assist Target; these should roughly correspond to /assist and /follow in the game, so whatever button ISBoxer needs to send to the game to follow or to assist the character currently targeted would go in these boxes

That should be about it. At that point Alt+F and Alt+A should work to follow and assist from any window.

Nope, no FTL necessary (or really possible in EQ1)

Mostly you just need to make sure your /assist and /follow hotkeys are configured in the game in all windows, and then make sure that ISBoxer knows what buttons it needs to press in order to target each of your guys from the different windows, and what the /assist and /follow hotkeys are. If it works from Slot 1, then I'd assume that you just need to check that it knows the buttons to press for targeting.

Here's a walkthrough for fixing that: Common modifications: Per-Slot Targeting keys
Basically you want to go into each Slot in your Character Set (select your Character Set in the top left pane, then each Slot number in the bottom left pane) and click the Variable Keystrokes tab. This should list keys for "Target Slot 1", "Target Slot 2" and so on. For each Slot in your Character Set, determine what key needs to be pressed in the game to target each of your other guys; it will be different for each Slot because the party list will show different in each window. So make sure that you're giving it the right button, so your guys will follow or assist the right toon

Re: Follow and assist problems

I do have the variable keystrokes set correctly per slot, but im wondering if it has anything to do with the config being stacked window layout. When i press the Follow key on another window my whole party will follow me except for slot 1 (main driver). I will just keep fiddling around with it until something happens =)

I'm sure I will have more questions to come as I get through each step of setup
