Re: Simple Target Char

Dont know if this will make it more easy lol been playing around with the command list also this is what Ive found out alteast

Command
/Bind f5 hardtarget 1 " this will lock on to the highlighted target "
/Bind f6 hardtarget 0 " this will break the lockon"
/bind f7 target Ravenspark " this will target the players name ingame "
/bind f8 follow " follow target"

If i recall isboxer can set up the command list for follow/stop all we needed was these few commands to get started with keybinds ingame

command ingame to start the follow

Step1. Hit f5 " locktarget"
Step2. Hit f7 to target the players name"
Step3. Hit f8 to start follow

Tested this out you can have someone else on follow and if you /target "players name here" it will switch the follow command to new target

Will check it out more for assit lol , this game is going to be fun

/Unbind_all will clear all binds u made
/clear will clear chat logs
/console will bring up console, havent found out how to get out of it once its up >.>
hit ~ on keyboard to close it or bring it up in "alt" screen

Re: Simple Target Char

Lost my reply to this. Get to type it again :)

First I don't use a joystick/controller although I hear controllers actually work pretty good for this game.

Console commands really are just chat commands. You type them into chat and they execute.
For example type into the chat: /target Norrin
That will very briefly target Norrin. If hardtargetlock were active Norrin would be target locked.

'by Cleric Companion" really should have read 'My Cleric Companion'. Its the free companion you get at lvl 16. I had heard the Cleric is good for solo so I went with her.
She is pretty good so far. Although I am only 18 at the moment so who knows later on. You don't really get to control them though.

Re: Simple Target Char

Here are my brief (hopefully) steps to getting Follow working with ISBoxer.

Design:
I wanted to be able to use 1 key to cause slaves to follow. Maybe have follow be automatic on window switching (decided against that for now).
Characters are Norrin (Guard) and Gwenn (Cleric).
Decided F1 would target Norrin, and F2 would target Gwenn.
Made F11 the Follow key and F10 the Assist key.

Configuration is game:
In game created the Keybinds for F1, F2, F10, and F11
F1 "hardtargetlock 1 $$ target Norrin"
F2 "hardtargetlock 1 $$ target Gwenn"
F10 "Assist"
F11 "setFollow 1"

Note there is no provision to untarget lock the char. Right now I switch to the char and hit ctrl. Will unlock later.

ISBoxer config:
Created a new team via the Wizard.
Set the Follow Me keys (Norrin to F1 and Gwenn to F2)
Modified the Assist Target Variable Keystroke to F10 (for team not per char)
Modified the Follow Target Variable Keystroke to F11 (for team not per char)
I set the Follow Me Keymap hotkey to be the tilde (~) instead of Alt+F (the alt was annoying)

I also made a Keymap for Up arrow that broadcast with assist the up arrow. I have up arrow in game bound to At will left.

Export to innerspace.

Now I can hit the ~ and the other person follows.
So Follow works great for the most part.

Assist I have not really got to work yet.

Re: Simple Target Char

This thread has been very helpful.

It took me awhile to understand each of your insights but I think I got the hang of the console/bind stuff for follow at least thus far and I am now using the binds.txt method for persistence between sessions.

I keep these commands handy as they were needed regularly when trying different combos:

/Unbind_all
/bind_load_file binds.txt

Currently I am only using these binds on my non-Tank background windows. Currently I am only doing a duo of tank/cleric but plan to try tank/clerics later. For the Cleric(s) I am using the following Binds.txt:

Shift+F1 "hardtargetlock 1 $$ target <Tank_Name_Here>"
Shift+F11 "setFollow 1"
Shift+F10 "hardtargetlock 0"

Note: replace <Tank_Name_Here> with your Guardian Fighter's (Tank's) character name.

In ISBoxer I set the tilde to be a two step keybind where it first does Shift+F1 and then does Shift+F11.

I use the Shift+F10 periodically to release hardtargetlock when talking to NPCs on my Cleric(s) or what not.

I will try to post my full setups on combat keys and such after I play my duo further.

If you all figure out how to effectively assist please post back.

Also, if you get a chance, please update the other thread with what character combos you have tried to what levels and your thoughts as to what works and what doesn't. The thread is:

viewtopic.php?f=45&t=3956&start=0
Thanks again.

How are you setting follow me keys to two different characters, "Set the Follow Me Keys (Norrin to F1 and Gwenn to F2)". I lost you there... :/

Re: Simple Target Char

Sorry I was not clear on the Key bindings for the Follow.

For Norrin (Slot 1) in the Variable Keystrokes for that slot only I set the Target Slot 1 to F1 and Target Slot 2 to F2
For Gwenn (Slot 2) in the Variable Keystrokes for the slot only I set the Target Slot 1 to F1 and Target Slot 2 F2.

This would work for any given number of chars as long as they were setup correctly in Neverwinter.

Perfect, thanks, I got it set up now. I added an "hardtargetlock 0" to the first step in the Follow Me keymap so that everyone is unlocked when follow is changed. I have follow change when character slots change, but I have a feeling that probably won't work out well when in combat. I'll find out soon enough. :D

Cool, can't wait to hear how you're handling assist.
