Unlike click bars it doesnt appear that {CHARACTER} works in the text box for menus

Click Bar Buttons eat the clicks and override the Mouse Broadcasting, I assume that's what you mean by virtual mouse. The "click through" option on Click Bars will send the mouse only to the current window, regardless of Mouse Broadcasting. Menu Buttons with the Click-through option enabled should work correctly with broadcasting.
