Hi all, new here and testing isboxing :)

Hi all :)
First i'm french and don't speack very well english so please forgive my weird writing :p

Well, long story short... With D3 at 50% i've decided to buy a new acc and try multibox.
evrithing was fine, thanks for the great tuto i was able to play in few minutes.
Then afer being 70 on the new, playing on the same res and graph at high i supose i could try to play a triboxes.

But that's very laggy, most of time i creat a game i have a box "client disconected, connection lost" or somthing like this.

I've tried to low the CPU fps to 15/15.
Lowering the res and graph, but that it evry time...

I have intel core I7 2.4Ghz
4Go RAM
windows 7 : 64
GeForce GTX 660M
"only" 11Go space left on C:/
A poor ADSL in little city

Is my compt too low ? could i play three diablo 3 upgrading something ?
Is this the internet connection too slow ?

You have a notebook (your GTX660M says so), so everything will hurt compared to a desktop, and upgrades are slim.

The things that are probably hurting you are:

4GB ram. You probably want 8GB. You may be able to upgrade your notebook here.

GTX 660M. This likely has 1GB vRAM. You probably want 2GB at least. Bad luck though, you cannot upgrade this. You will need to turn down the graphics settings of the game, and try and have lower framerates. You can mix and have 30 foreground 15 background and it may work alright. Because of the style of D3, you should be aiming for something consistent on both sides of foreground/background, or you could try a setting which will put the background on half. e.g. 60/60, 60/30, 30/30, 30/15, 15/15 etc. There is no specific rule about the actual numbers though. It's a case of see what works

Poor ADSL. This depends on how poor. 128Kb would be pretty poor, 24Mbit would be fine. If you are getting a linespeed of 4Mbit or higher I don't think there would be any issue. IMHO 2Mbit would probably be OK too, but I don't know the actual bandwidth requirements of D3.


To find out where your problem lies you can measure the performance of your notebook while everything is running. You can use the info from this page: http://isboxer.com/wiki/HOWTO:Tweak_you ... ottlenecks. If you find out that it is GPU or CPU even with the ingame settings on low, then you are looking for a new laptop/desktop. Even the RAM you may be out of luck too, although most of that particular era should go to 8GB. I wouldn't rush out and buy more ram until you've identified that as the issue.

I've played a little then make a save repport but i don't understand anything... Is this a report juste for the time i make it ? So i should have saved a repport while playing ?

One thing i may i found :
first try loading the char and evryone disconnected. Second time ok, summon my pet and gooing to tristram cathedral and evry one disconnected.
Next try evry one in tristrame the going to cathedral and the main char was disconnected, re lauch then i summoned the pet just already in the cathedral.
Played a little but freeze most of the time at evry pack.
Then going to cathedral 4 WP i was able to go, "salle de langoisse 2" ok too, back in tristram and evryone disconnected.

So maybe the problem coul be in loading three big map at a time, that's why when i reconnect and going to the same map (already loaded on my comp) it's ok ?

Could be the ram but i've never seen it full on the tool, at least 0.3Go free.

So, some answers that would help are:

What brand/model is your laptop?
How fast is your ADSL connection? You need a measured/link rate, not the upto as advertised. http://www.speedtest.net/ would be a place to find out.
What version of Windows do you have. e.g. Windows 7 Home?, 32 bit? 64bit?


As to Openhardware Monitor, the main things you should be looking at are the Load values on the CPU, Memory (RAM), both Load and Data nodes, and GPU items, Load for Core, Engine, Memory, and Temperature. You need to looking when you do something which regularly chucks you out of the game. Which items spike upward, and how high.

As to the available RAM at 0.3GB, well that is pretty low, and is going to mean that Windows is probably starting to swap to disk.

Yay, cross posting.

Looking at your dump there, I would say you are running out of RAM.

edit: And you Hard Drive is almost bursting at the seams (I guess that report could be porkies).
You should aim for 20% free space on hard drives at all times. 10% at a pinch. > 2% and you're just asking for stuff to break.

Not easy to look at the tool while playing because while the game freeze it won't open the tool window and cant see just a little place free by the three game windows.

PS : Ok thaks so if i can add some ram that would be better ? I've try lowering the res and graphisme but even three min need a lot more that two game playing at max...

thanks i'll try to make some space too, my old comp has crashed and needed to save all his data on this one so i must buy a new HDD either way :)

Well, first I would try freeing up some disk space if you can. It might help.

As for the RAM, I called that because it is hitting 98% in all 3 of your dumps there, and on one of them you had little RAM used, and then it hit 98%. I can't be 100% certain that more RAM will fix your issue, but it appears to be a high probability. Only you can make the end judgement as it is you that has to pay for it, not me.

Yes I am non committal, but then it is not my money. If you local computer store is nice they may let you test out whether it will solve your problem before you buy it. Can't hurt to ask.


p.s. You internet connection should be OK assuming that is 0.86 Mbps upload.
