Oceanic players ruined by latency issues

After quad boxing on wow for a long time, i found the "Follow" option a life saver for 200+ latency players due to lag responses from character too character.

Now after many hours of configuring my Boxing for Diablo 3 i have come to the conclusion that without the in game "Follow option" it is near impossible to have 4 characters in sync with latency over 200 ms, with that said i have talked to many US boxers and no ping is higher that 60-70 latency, they do say that if they receive lag spikes or high latency issues that they cannot box efficiently as the Syncing process differs to far from Lead to Drones.

So if any other Oceanic players out there that do intend to Multibox on a non "Follow option" game i recommend you understand your characters will not stay in formation as good as those with sub 100 latency players.

Anyhow i just wish to let the devs know of this issue if they have not already been informed.

I won't deny that Oceanic players have a higher latency compared to US players when connecting to a server based in the US, but I will point out that Marshboxer (a fellow ISBoxer user and a member on these forums) is located in Australia and is a very successful Diablo III multiboxer.

Latency plays a large part in the visual aspect of what you're seeing happen on screen. When you click in all of your windows, they all receive the click and send that data to the server at the same time; however, you don't see your slaves react because the "visual data" has to be sent back to your main client in order for you to see them move or perform an action (latency is calculated round-trip at this point). Does this screw up gameplay? It can, especially if those are unexpected spikes. Does this make it impossible to multibox in the scenario that I stated in the first sentence of this post? I would say, no.

I believe that you feel limited because you've been multiboxing games that rely on follow, which, can be more forgiving when high latency is a factor. As an Oceanic player (or anyone with a higher latency) you need to adapt to your environment and overcome that mindset that you can't multibox because of the latency. It would be different if the latency was spiking high at random times, but if you know you're going to have a constant 200ms latency to a server, you should be calculating that into your gameplay.

With that being said, I'm not an Oceanic player so I don't know what it's like to constantly deal with a 200ms ping at all times; but such a latency can be artificially replicated, by say, uploading a video to YouTube and then trying to play. It is very possible to be successful and the player needs to realize the situation they're in and then adapt accordingly.

I'm not sure how this is a dev issue related to Inner Space or ISBoxer. This is a geographical issue because there's an entire ocean that separates players from where the servers are physically located.
