Quadboxing, Lag,

Hi all,

My PC Specs are:

Alienware x51

2GB GDDR5 EVGA GTX 660
1 TB Hard Drive
Intel Core i7-2600 Processor (3.4GHz 8MB cache,with Hyper-Threading and Turbo Boost Technology 2.0)
8 GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz (2 DIMMs)
330W External PSU

I just got the EVGA GTX 660 Video card and I am trying to quad box. Most of the time is smooth but 30% of the time I see slight lag and i check my GPU usage goes from 60% avg to 95%. Right now as I try to run 4 instances of Diable 3, on my 4th instance my computer shuts down, does that mean my PSU cant handle the NEw video card?

Also What settings should I tweak on IsBoxer?

I currently have single monitor stacked, 30/30 fps for all toons, round-robin.

The 660 has a minimum system power requirement of 450W. While the card will run on that current PSU, you can expect odd behavior from the card because I doubt it's getting the power it requires to operate under heavy load.

Yea, your are right. I have a small crappy alienware form factor x51 with a 330W external PSU, any1 have any recommendations on what to upgrade the GPU to? Im on a GT 545 right now since my cpu cant handle the GTX 660

Unfortunately, when using an NVidia card I'll recommend either a 560/660 as the bare minimum. Any video card that is going to be able to handle a respectable load is going to require a good amount of wattage to power it.
