InnerSpace is unable to launch D3

Hi, I'm trying to run D3 with InnerSpace on Windows 8 and failing badly.

With my process manager open, I see the process starting, and then it just disappears from the process list.
There's no crash reports on either (D3 nor IS).

I have tried setting compability to Win7 and XP, with no success. I've tried a clean install of both, D3 and ISBoxer.
I'm out of ideas. Console says D3 has been launched succesfully, and reports nothing else after that.

If anything else besides the diagnostics report is required, do let me know.

When you run D3 using innerspace for the first time it does take a while to load because it has to create the virtual files which are quite large for this game. It seems to be pretty common for people to hit that stage, see nothing happen, and think that it's broken. That's not to say that it isn't a fair assessment for a first time user, just an easy mistake to make. Try starting your character set and just leaving it be for a while.

Nope, that's not it. Ive had it sitting there for more than 20 minutes. After getting frustrated I realised it opens diablo process but it shuts down in a second or so. So I figure cache copying isnt the reason.

I see from your diagnostics that you've got an integrated Intel graphics chip. I haven't specifically tested Inner Space on Diablo 3 on Intel graphics, and I have a feeling that this might be related. Most multiboxers have a graphics chip from NVIDIA or ATI/AMD.


Check the Windows Event Viewer, and see if it has an entry for a Diablo iii.exe error from the time of the crash. If it does, the details provided in the Event Viewer from the crash might help.

To find out, type "Event" in the windows search box and it should find the program for you (in Windows 8 mine is under the Settings search category and came up with 'View event logs'). In the Event Viewer window, expand "Windows Logs" in the thing on the left, then click on "Application". It'll take a minute and come up with a list in the top-middle area. At the very top you'd be looking for one where the "Source" says "Diablo III" and the "Level" column is probably "Error". If there is one for Diablo 3, then select it and in the bottom half click the "XML View", and copy/paste that to me.

EDIT: Ok, problem seems to be solved. Windows 8 is way too new to me.
