Characters constantly getting un-synced

So i've been trying out ISBoxer since yesterday. I am running 2 monks. I have a dual monitor setup.. one being 1920x1080 and the other being 1680x1050.. basically my problem is that my characters are never perfectly synced.. there always seems to be a mm difference when i sync my characters in a corner.. and after moving for a couple seconds or attacking my characters will become increasingly more unsynced rendering the game practically unplayable.. I've tried a stacked layout, split layouts on 1 screen.. i've tried each instance of D3 on their own respective screens... all with Foreground and Background set to 30/30 fps.. have same resolution withing ISBoxer and within the diablo 3 client... my buddy is running a single monitor setup and does not have this problem. so I am wondering if having Dual monitors with different aspect ratios might be causing the problem?

Here is my profile in it's current state: http://www.privatepaste.com/33202f5650

Re: Characters constantly getting un-synced

Your window layout as pasted doesn't use the second screen, so no it should not have anything to do with that. It also has Instant Swapping enabled which means that the resolutions should be synced.

The only thing that comes to mind is the windowed/fullscreen setting. Make sure it is the same in both windows, and one of these settings might behave better than the others for you. I would probably expect normal "windowed" to operate best, and "fullscreen windowed" to possibly have more issues.

Re: Characters constantly getting un-synced

Settings are the same for both windows. I even tried going into the txt file and forcing 30fps for foreground / background and changing all resolutions to 1280x720.. problem persists... i tried killing my 2nd monitor.. problem persists.. basically even when i stack them in a corner the cursor is always slightly off.. and eventually the change increases causing my characters to not attack the same unit.. or move in the same location... i have absolutely no idea what could be causing this.. feel like I've tried pretty much everything I could think of.

Re: Characters constantly getting un-synced

Okay. Did you change the fullscreen/windowed/fullscreen windowed setting as I suggested? What do you have it set to now? Note that you may need to re-launch the game after changing the setting, and it must be changed in each instance while playing with ISBoxer.

"The cursor is slightly off" could mean different things. If the windows are the same size, then UI elements (e.g. the action bars, mana/health bubbles, etc) should always exactly match up, meaning that if you put your cursor on one of these it should appear in exactly the same location in each window, and clicking should work exactly the same in each window. If they are not precisely the same, then we look at different resolutions which is probably either the fullscreen/windowed/fullscreen windowed setting, or of course your Window Layout (enabling Instant Swapping in your Window Layout is usually sufficient).

Now.. under normal circumstances it is expected that your characters will often be in a slightly different position or view, so that objects in the world are not at precisely the same position in each window. One might also describe this as "the cursor is slightly off". This is not something that is solved by adjusting resolutions, ISBoxer window layouts, etc. This is a gameplay issue for which we would talk about other solutions, like hold shift while you click so some of your guys don't move while others successfully attack.

Re: Characters constantly getting un-synced

Yeah I switched between fullscreen/windowed/windowed fullscreen and I would relaunch isboxer / innerspace each time. At the moment I have it set up to fullscreen. UI elements are all exactly the same so it's not a problem with the resolution. So I'm assuming its a gameplay issue. Although my buddy's characters/mouse are always exactly the same on each client allowing him to always hit the same target. In my case with the cursor being slightly off causes them to attack different targets and/or run off.. and if I shift click then I will have 1 character attacking a monster and the other will attack 1-3 inchs off the target. My buddy does have a slightly more powerful computer than I .. he usually runs 50+ fps with 2 clients running while I run at 25-40

Bump please... pretty sure its not the gameplay that makes my characters run up to 6 inches apart from eachother every 2 steps.

Re: Characters constantly getting un-synced

Have you tried to set the fps even lower? It sounds like the problem I had when I used a slower computer. Decrease the foreground and background to 25/25, and if that doesn't work 20/20, etc. This should be done using ISBoxer and not the in-game setting. The reason behind this is that if your fps does not stay steady across all accounts they will move at variable speeds. I've noticed this only happens at lower fps.

As a side note: Because you play a melee class, I suggest that you enable elective mode (in-game options) and swap your primary and secondary skills with each other. This allows you to hold down rightclick to move and causes your character to auto attack any mob that it collides with. This means that you do not have to worry so much about synching during battle. I'll see if I can make a vid showcasing this in the next week for better understanding.

Just noticed this. If you have your foreground and background set to 30/30, your fps should not go over 30.
