Re: use same fps to sync characters

I run all my clients in a 4 corners setup at 1280x768 on a 30 in monitor running 2560x1600 res.

My system is:
i7-950
2 GTX 580's in SLI (I am running them in SLI)
12 GB Ram
240GB SSD (all clients running from the SSD)

All clients are set to run at a max of 30 FPS. Text displays better for me when running in fullscreen instead of the two windowed options (it was very jagged and hard to read in either). I am pretty happy with this setup, but I could see people having issues with 4-corners on smaller displays that can't do resolutions above 1920x1200.

Re: use same fps to sync characters

Hey guys, im planning on running quad characters on D3, but i was a little concerned about how well i would run it.
I have an i7-920@3.6ghz, 12gig DDr3-1600mhz, 3x 6950's, and 3x 24" LCD Monitors. After reading some of the replys i think im safe.
I didnt get a chance to test ISBoxer when in the beta unfortunately, otherwise i would be a little more confident.

Just thought id post saying Thanks for the info :)

Cheers.

Your specs should be more then fine, but I don't understand what you mean by quad-corners and then go on to mention 3 24" monitors.

Just listing what i had. But at any time, if it does run really well i could go on to do full screen for primary display then chuck the rest on another monitor.

Re: use same fps to sync characters

I was curious if anyone has tried running 4 games with at least one of them using medium(or high) graphics settings, and what their hardware setup was like? I was able to get 4 games running with my current hardware but only on the lowest settings for all of them. Ideally I would like to have my main screen (1920x1080) with one window running at somewhat higher graphics settings and then 3 smaller windows running low. I was wondering if anyone has done this type of setup and what type of graphics card(s) they were running.

Another idea I was ironing out was setting up a widescreen monitor vertically and using this for all 3 of the smaller screens. This way I would have them all at the same distance from the main screen, and I think they would be less neglected and easier to keep an eye on. Anyway, my thoughts were 1920x1080 vs 1920x1200. For the 1080 screen I think it would add up to be 3 screens at 1080x608, leaving 96 unused screen pixels vertically. On the 1200 screen they would be set at 1200*675, putting me over on size by 105 ish. Probably not a big deal, but I was wondering if anyone had pros or cons to the two setups.

Thanks,
Sam

Re: use same fps to sync characters

In my quad setup the main ran at 2560x1600 with all settings maxed while the others ran on low. I started with the remaining 3 on seperate monitors then tried them on a single, each has its benefits but both are definitely doable.

If you're worried about hardware limitations just stick them on one and scale them way down. Vram is a pretty big concern, so adjust to what your setup allows you to play smoothly.

I diabled the limiter on the main's framerate and set the others to 30. It usually runs around 150fps avg without vsync and a stable 60 with, so it can definately be done, even at super-high resolutions.
