One of the slot freeze after new patch

I am having the same freezes, sometimes it does not happen for a while sometimes it is 1 client and other times it's all 4. CTRL ALT DEL and than cancel fixes things for me also.

It still happens frequently. The first time i used the ctrl+alt+del method to fix the window it happened again a few minutes later.

I am getting the same freezing issue, but I have a black screen and I can't fix it, the ctrl+alt+delete thing doesn't work for me at all.

But what is interesting I can make it happen every time in the exact same place.

I am using 3 witch doctors with all the pets out at once. I am using 1280x800 for all 3 accounts (2560x1600 screen) I just updated my drivers to the latest nvidia drivers. I turned off SLi from my GTX690. I turned off Multi-display, as I usually run 3 screens.

What is strange tho, about a year or so ago I ran D3 with Isboxer with no problems at all. I just didn't get time to sub to it. And I only just subbed to now as I have time and the first time I run the game it locks up within 2mins. Just my luck

Here is what I do to break it:

I set the quest to Prime Evil in Act 4.

I use The Crystal Colomnade waypoint.

Then I click on the doorway to The Gateway to the Silver Spire and when I come to the new area characters 2 and 3 get a black screen.

For me again (not first time today) freeze.

This time I play with 4x barb - act 3, depth lvl 2.

I included zipped files. (btw why you not allow add as an attachments dmp files? it's format from yours software)

Today I don't know why only freeze slot 2 and 3 - always slot 1 and 4 wasn't frozen.
(edit: sorry, last was from slot 1 and slot 2)

I play at low fx setting, everything is turn off or low settings - what I can do more? I wan't to play without interrupt as before patch 2.0.1 :/

I just try it and for me almost work ok... almost because I can enter and play for a while.. after (max 1 min) freeze one of my slot too.
I was try 6 times... 5 finish with frozen slot, and one time was fine.

False alarm with my post.

The cinematics were playing, but not displaying.I only figured this out because when I tried it on my laptop it worked perfectly, the cinematics aslso played just fine.

So I set to automatically skip cutscenes and bam, fixed!

But in my case doesn't work well :/
Now I back to Act I, and from time to time stop working.

Mildly confused as to the status for most of you here. How many of you seem to have permanently solved the problem?

Ctrl+alt+del is a temporary fix? Have those of you who are using that trick (or launching some other program) tried adjusting your in-game graphics settings?

The problem is still happening. I'm running four windows with instant swap. NVidia Titan, 16 GB system RAM.

Trying to run anything that brings up the UAC prompt to allow admin access will free up the windows again.

It seems like Windows desktop composition might be getting messed up. I'll try disabling that and see if it helps.

It happens pretty reliably when starting a game, within about 10 seconds or so. It might happen after that when changing zones, but usually doesn't happen in the same session after using the workaround. (windows key, isb, enter, esc)

Hi Lax, if you need more crash dumps or specifics let me know. I am another user experiencing this issue (without having it before patch). Running 4 Wizards in 1920x1080 window full screen on top of each other with my DXNOthing/FX on my secondary monitor.

I am able to reproduce it almost every time I start a new game (which is frequently). I go to Act 3, last quest to kill Azmo. I run my guy to Azmo door and leave the game after checkpoint. Subsequent runs I load all 4 wizards into game, my main clicks portal to checkpoint, my other 3 select my mains flag to teleport. I go backwards up the stairs and spam some frozen orbs on scorpions and almost every time 1-2 windows freeze. Ctrl-Alt-Del works for me to get them back to normal which doesn't occur until the next game. I am also using a NVidia GTX 480 on drivers from ~3-4 months back.
