Quad Boxing Inferno

The only time I quad box is when I'm farming fast gold and when I mean fast as in lazy grind after being worn out from hours of group Inferno. Otherwise I'm apart of a hardcore community, so 95% of my playtime is grouped in Inferno. I would not recommend playing D3 only to quad box, it's a fun toy off to the side to change the monotonous pace of killing the same thing over and over. My Witch Doctor is at 83,000 DPS now and the game is easy even much so after all the balancing they have been adding; Quad boxing is great to have to add to the challenge when the game gets dry, just don't make it your main focus of play.
Re: Quad Boxing Inferno
It depends on the person. I welcome the added challenge that multiboxing brings. I've switched to a single character and it's just not as fun to me.
Re: Quad Boxing Inferno
With the damage added per player in Inferno removed boxing Barbarians will be the way to go. Of coarse it will be situational; knock back mobs or anything that separates your characters will be the ultimate challenge. Even at 83k dps solo there are elites I'd prefer not dealing with like shielded minions. If they actually do increase the repair costs 4-6 times on level 60 items than you're going to want the ultimate cheese setup for boxing Inferno, or just really rich to begin with. With Clobber/AoE Stun rotation with round the robin I see 4 Barbs being the ultimate setup.
Re: Quad Boxing Inferno
Looking at barb's, you can chain a lot of abilities together in rotation hypothetically which is very intriguing.
Currently working on monks when I get time to play - hoping with 4 and the group mantra's can take more than 1-2 hits. If not Barbs might be the route to go.

Re: Quad Boxing Inferno
Starting out in the game leveling 4 characters was very painful, If you're monks are getting 1-2 shot you should consider doing the waterfall method on gear. In my best equipment my main has over 80k dps, second toon has over 45k, the other two are stuck at like 20k roughly. I can plow through act one just fine with witchdoctors the only problem is the WD can't really take hits, AoE fear rotation is nice but can be tedious in some situations.
I really want to hear about someone's accomplishments with 4 barbs in Inferno. I'm curious about abilities/rotations/gear ect.

Re: Quad Boxing Inferno
Anyone had any success with 4x Demon Hunters? I'm Level 53 at the moment and everything is a breeze. I've decked out every character with on-hit stun/blind/freeze etc. in every slot possible, which combined with damaging-caltrop spam it means most melee mobs end up perma-cc'd while trying to catch me (or turned back by cc if I stand in caltrop spam) - I did this on Nightmare Diablo, he was cc'd 95%+ of the time. Not sure how diminishing returns works on Inferno, if it does at all, but it will be fun to find out. Will be even more reliable in level 60 gear as its easy to get a solid 3.5-4% CC chance per piece of armour vs. the current 1.5-2.5 I have now.
Re: Quad Boxing Inferno
Very good to hear, what is your main attack as a DH?
Re: Quad Boxing Inferno
I run with the following set up:
3x Hungering Arrow (50% pierce chance) + 1x Entangling Shot (hits 4 targets)
Elemental Arrow (Ball Lightning)
Caltrops (45% damage / tick)
Shadow Power (65% damage reduction while active)
Preperation (60% heal on use)
Companion (Ferret for trash, Bat for bosses or Marked for Death > Mortal Enemy)
Archery (bows)
Custom Engineering
3x 15% damage vs. snared targets + 1x Caltrops = 25% less damage done by enemies
Elemental Arrow and caltrops do most of the work, and the crazy amount of hits per second keeps the CC applied most of the time. If something does get through (leaps, teleports, shielded etc.) then I have shadow power + prep to keep me alive. Has worked well so far, mid way through act 2 hell now.

Re: Quad Boxing Inferno
Awesome, only in Act 2 nightmare myself right now with 4 monks - and love the mantras .... but melee - a lot of worries go away if your a ranged class.

The DR even in Hell you will notice, with Bash/Clobber on barbarians I can't keep skeleton king 100% cc'd, I am yet to put my barbs into Inferno since my multi boxing pc's mobo fried /sigh.
