Re: Emulated mouse glitch

Even though I've tried using the "scaled" repeater option with windows of the same aspect ratio (16:10), the repeater glitch happens all the same.

Configurations I've Tried:
2560x1600 main, 3x 1900x1200
2560x1600 main, 3x 640x400
2560x1600 main, 3x 1280x800

Theoretically these should work fine, since they're all just scaled down 16:10s.

Interestingly, when I run a stacked configuration of 4@ 2560x1600 -- where repeater functions fine between the main and slave windows -- and add video feed windows (scaled down) with passthrough enabled on a second monitor, if you try to pass clicks through the feeds, the cursor ends up completely off target as well -- just as it did when I had scaled down slave windows.

Seems like an overall problem with scaling in D3? By that I mean scaling of mouse cursor position, not scaling of the windows themselves.

but....

Using another repeater software like Input Director will work though, as long as all of the windows have the same aspect ratio. I could scale my VM's window from 160x100 all the way up (at 16:10) and it never lost any functionality, even in windowed/fullscreen/FSwindowed modes.

You mentioned this before, but leads me to believe it's a tweak you'll need to make in IS for D3 specifically. Hope that helps

You are correct that it is a D3-specific tweak I will need to do in IS to fix :) It will probably be coming soon, but I've been on the road for a few days. Appreciate all of the feedback

Re: Emulated mouse glitch

I guess running 4 copies in the same resolution was a good idea as I am not having these issues really. Will be nice when you can fix it for people in other setups though Lax. Keep up the good work!

Re: Emulated mouse glitch

I'm unable to see my emulated cursor at all now, using two screens and two accounts. It's still there mirroring my main and accepting input, just can't see it.

Re: Emulated mouse glitch

I played for a bit and realized that when I hovered the invisible emulated cursor over a part of the screen that it would not pop up item tooltips, so on a whim I changed the slaves ingame resolution from 1600x900 to 1920x1080 to match the master. Somehow this brought the cursor back. I finally found a recording program that does what I want it to so I uploaded a short video to show what is happening. http://youtu.be/GIekrV2A0RA

Re: Emulated mouse glitch

Weird Mahther. I don't have that issue at all, but I haven't actually logged in multiple accounts at once yet. Even my emulated cursors show up as the in game cursor though and not the default windows one like yours is in that video.

Update: Nevermind I decided to open my character set and log on to slot 2. Then I focused slot one and turned broadcasting on. As soon as I pick up any item like Mahther did in his video my broadcasted cursor completely dissapeared and did not come back till I either moused completely off the is boxer windows and back on or focused slot 2 then when back to slot one and toggled broadcasting off then back on.

It sometimes randomly dissapeared during area transitions as well, but not always.

Yeah, the default cursor appears sometimes when switching to another application and back. If I remember right this happened when I played other games too tho.

Re: Emulated mouse glitch

A little update for you guys

I've been working on the cursor positioning issue, but it required more of a comprehensive update than I expected. Usually with this type of issue I have had the fortune of flipping a switch in the code to fix the positioning for a particular game. This time the fix is going to be much more disruptive and may affect other games (for better or for worse, it could possibly break other games until fixed), but I'm also hoping it means a permanent end to cursor positioning issues. ;)

As far as the Diablo 3 cursor and the arrow cursor and sometimes not working.. you may see an improvement by enabling "Make game believe it is foreground window" in your Character Set. There's some known issues regarding the cursor image getting dropped that you may be running into; I can probably fix that up a bit while I'm finishing up the cursor positioning issue as well. The cursor positioning issue may also cause the fake cursor not to appear.

I don't have a solid ETA on these fixes since I'm still out of town, but a new dev build will probably be up this weekend.

Re: Emulated mouse glitch

No worries. All the work you've done is very appreciated. Just trying to help get the kinks out before launch, hopefully. =)

Re: Emulated mouse glitch

Yea changes before release are a good thing. This is the perfect time to work out any kinks.

I think my free trial is about to expire today and I will more then likely be buying time for the software soon.
