how do you guys know when a legendary drops ?

Because i got only 1 screen and i personly hate it to split it so i play with 1 char full screened but than i dont know when the others find a legendary is there still a tool like loot alert ?

There is a discussion about tracking drops here, and none of it includes third party programs which violate the rules of the game.

I use 2 screen but my other screen is a HD ready TV on my right, not in front of me, so I keep the sound on for all the account I play exept for music and voice.
This way, you can hear every time a LEG drops. Because there is a loud metalic sound each time.

Also, I put a simple shortcut to switch between accounts : ALT + 1 - ALT + 2 and ALT + 3. So I often check if there isn't a Leg items or a star on the map.

No, those programs are not allowed, hence my post pointing to another thread and specifically stating: "none of it includes third party programs which violate the rules of the game."
