Main window locks/stops rendering

4 Box, Dual Monitor, Single Nvidia 680 GPU, D3 Windowed Fullscreen

Monitor 1 - Main window
Monitor 2 - Alt windows

Having a problem with my main window/slot1 locking up/stops rendering. When I swap to a different window a hole is left where the main/slot1 window should have gone. All the while the locked up window still accepts input because I can still play on a alt window switched to main and the character on the locked up main/slot1 still moves and updates on the alt windows. Also if I use prev/next or assigned hotkey for main window/slot1 the screen updates with a snapshot of what the window should look like atm but doesnt render further. Hope this makes sense and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Main window locks/stops rendering

Weird...

I would probably point at the video card and drivers for that one. Check for updates first ;)

With your hardware, assuming you're on Vista or later, what I would do is set up Full Screen Stacked window layout on monitor 1, with a dxNothing window on monitor 2 for the per-instance views. This way you can use any of the 3 windowed modes as opposed to just Windowed Fullscreen. Between those changes, this issue may be eliminated.

Thanks for the quick reply. I do have the latest drivers installed for all my hardware and I seem to have fixed the problem by checking the "disable vertical sync" within isboxer. I originally unchecked it to eliminate screen tearing, which it did, but it seems to create the lockup/rendering problem. Guess I need to figure out a new way to fix the screen tearing because the "InGame" vertical sync doesnt help with tearing under isboxer. It did standalone. Maybe a Fullscreen dxNothing setup like you mentioned will help.

Re: Main window locks/stops rendering

Not sure if I should post a new thread, but figured I would add this here. I am also having this same issue in Diablo 3. The main window will freeze and I have to open task manager to unfreeze it. It happened on my old computer with a i5-2500k and gtx 560ti and its happening on my i7-3770k with a gtx 680.
