Need help - Tunnels/Smoothping

Guys hello,

I need your help. I'm playing from AU and some kind of tunnel would be crucial next to ISBoxer. I found an article about WideCap and PuTTy but could not configure it to work. Please help me if you can.

What are you stuck on?

Re: Need help - Tunnels/Smoothping

Lax, thank you for reply.

Actually I meant this viewtopic.php?f=4&t=649&p=2482&hilit=howto#p2470

What am I stuck on? I'm afraid on everything right now.
First time I was able to start ISBoxer and my two games, but could not log in because both of my accounts got locked down. (With originally as I play with tunnel Blizz sees that I'm logging from LA, but without Tunnel they see an AU IP address so they lock my account due suspicious action - asking for changing my password.)
Now I messed up ISBoxer that much somehow when I try to start he game (as the 40 sec guide showed) I just get critical wow error mas. I still able to log on normally trough Smoothping as usual, tho.
Therefore the first bit is I need some help to reconfigure the Boxer, and the main part: Do you understand that topic and the stuff in it? It seems I don't...anyway I need a solution for ISBoxer + some kind of tunnelig service running together.

Thank you very much

Osy

ps: Sorry 4 bad grammar, second language :)

Re: Need help - Tunnels/Smoothping

I don't know anything about the error you got -- all I know is "critical wow error mas" and there's no ISBoxer config you can do to make WoW crash. Usually these crashes are either a) other software that, for some reason, interferes with Inner Space or b) a WoW crash unrelated to IS/ISBoxer. With the full error log from the crash I can usually find something out about it.

I don't know how I got the wrong link in my post. The one you linked is the one I meant to link. Yes, I understand basically what the thread is explaining. No, I haven't done it. I can sort of explain what things are telling you to do, though. A lot of what this particular guide does is related to using a separate proxy per window. I don't think that's required, I think they can all use the same one -- the author explains that he likes that particular capability of WideCap.

The first part describes how to make a rule in WideCap to make port 11500 go directly to my server instead of through the proxy (this is the port used for your Lavish account when a game is launched). The rest deals with setting up the actual proxy and the related security. WideCap is going to connect to PuTTY, and PuTTY is going to connect to your proxy service.

So steps 1 and 2 instruct you to create what WideCap will use as the proxies; 127.0.0.1 is the IP address known as "localhost" which means whatever computer you're on at the time, and then the attached :1080 and :1091 and so on are port numbers that PuTTY will allow WideCap to connect on -- valid port numbers are between 1 and 65535 (but 1024 and under are reserved for what the internet deems important, so use pretty much anything above that). You can pick a different port for each window you want to run. (I believe you only NEED to make one)

Step 3 wants you to have all of your WoWs launched. In WideCap it wants you to find the program list, and drag+drop the WoWs from the program list into something that starts them getting proxied. And you pick one of the 127.0.0.1:#### to work with each one. (I believe they can all use the same one)

Steps 4 and 5 want you to set up each of the 127.0.0.1:#### as an SSH tunnel in PuTTY, and peform whatever other configuration in PuTTY that your proxy provider tells you. They have configuration pages that explain what to do.

Steps 6 and 7 want you to start PuTTY and have it connected to the service, and launch the WoW clients.

Re: Need help - Tunnels/Smoothping

Lax, still/again thank you for the answer. I'm going to go through on those steps one by one.

Today I had some time and I have no critical error anymore, when I start the team as in the video, I have the 2 windows on my screen, but can't log in to my account. It is kinda weird have you ever heard like this?
I put in my account name, password, then authenticator code. And it wont let me in, telling me the details are incorrect. Double-triple check typing in again and again, same deal. I can log on normally through Wowtunnels, or without it - tho I get locked instantly due "change in the pattern of login, it is suspicious blabla, please change your pw" message.

Will get back to you tomorrow.

Best regards,

Osy

Re: Need help - Tunnels/Smoothping

That just sounds like your password has numbers in it and you're leaving Key Maps enabled during login. This might help: http://isboxer.com/wiki/WoW:Quick_Start_Guide#Logging_into_the_game
(so would the rest of the guide)

Thanks, cool it is working now I just can't log in, without tunnel it keeps lockdown the account. At the evening I will check those settings.

Re: Need help - Tunnels/Smoothping

Oookay, I found some help today at the page of Wowtunnels with video if it may help others in the future: http://www.wowtunnels.com/instructions_32bit_manual

Lax, thanks for helping me out, I have a few minor issues, you might know what have I missed at setup or somewhere.
First, I have no player/target HP/mana icons/bars.
Second, if I lead with account "A", "B" follows it as should, but if the "B" is the master, the account "A" is going in weird directions. Should I keep broadcasting switched off?
Third, I can't make them to attack at the same time.

I'm playing a lock/priest combo right now. My general idea would be: random dungeon que with 1heal 1dps (faster que time than 2 dps) and while the lock i can put up 3 dots on everything, I can heal the party on grid for example.
Is that possible or it is too complex what I want?

Thanks Lax again and again :)

Re: Need help - Tunnels/Smoothping

No clue on the first point, sorry.

For the second point, the following:
Are you playing with Keymaps on and Repeater off?
Generally you lead with one toon (using the mouse or WASD keys), with the other on follow.
If you broadcast the mouse to both, they won't perfectly align.

For the attacking, I'll assume Keymaps are on, and Repeater is off.
You have a spell from each class on the same keybind, which is one of "1 through =".
The IS Boxer addon is enabled for both toons (can check at the character select screen).
If you put Smite and Shadowbolt both on "1", no macros just dragged straight from their respective spell books, do they each cast?

Generally, if you have a tank the random queues are very fast.
If you have a healer, the queues are a decent pace.
If you're lacking both of these, the queues are a bit longer.

You shouldn't have any issue with setting up a Repeater Region over the Grid Frame.
You'll want to check KVM mode, and have the broadcast go to whatever slot the Priest is in; that way the Priest can heal from either screen, and the Warlock won't repeatedly target the party members.
You'll need to ensure the Grid frame is alphabetical, on both screens so the ordering is the same.
For Grid you'll need to also have Grid Custom Layouts and Clique to interpret the clicks (this is the set up I use too).
My custom config is:

ToonA,ToonB,ToonC,ToonD,ToonE;NAME
1,2,3,4,5;5/5;NAME;NR

The first line will be column one.
You want every one of your toons listed, with a comma between each, and no spaces.
I have 36 toons listed on this line.
End it with a semi-colon and then NAME (in caps).

Line two denotes displaying everyone in groups 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
The 5/5, tells Grid to use five columns across and five names deep.
If you had gone 8/4, it would be eight columns across and four names deep.
The semi-colon NAME, means you get an alphabetical sort again.
And NR is no repeating, which means in a raid.. your toons are in column 1, even if they're in groups 2 and 5.

Re: Need help - Tunnels/Smoothping

Thanks for the reply, man.

Yes the repeater was the problem and it seems the software also dont like if i wanna lead with the second acc.
yea the attack mode is working well too :)
The ide would be in dungeon is to log on with priest master and lock slave; the lock can be operated the common buttons like 1 til 5 for example (empty slots on the priest because I would have mana issues dps and heal in dungeon) and the heal can be maintain by mouseover macros on grid for example. Or clique, whatever.

I still have no player / target / targettarget etc icon/healt/mana bars. Lax, any idea on this one?

Best Regards
