Issue with copy sets of key maps

so i coppied base hotkeys so i could change a select few keybinds for different class's and i then went to the character set and delected the original base hotkeys and selected the copy. i just now realized after a hour of problems, that it was still activating the original AND the copy ones, even though it was deselected ( IE i hit 2 and it pressed 2 twice , space same thing) i then delected the copy and the original was still deselected in the character set and the hotkeys were still activating . is this normal and im just a idiot or is there a bug? TIA :)

Re: Issue with copy sets of key maps

It depends on what else you were doing too.

The Base Hotkeys doesn't normally have anything mapped on the 1 to = keys, so the 2 key should not be affected. This is however in the Combat Broadcast Hotkeys. If you do happen to create a mapped key with a hotkey of 2 in the Base Hotkeys, then yes, you would end up with two mapped keys with the same hotkey.

The second part of the issue may be the understanding that the assignment of a Key Map to a Character Set or Character is only setting whether the initial state of that Key Map is On or Off (or Loaded or Not Loaded if you like) when you load your character set. This state can change throughout and certain hotkeys will do this under a default configuration, e.g. the Activate Key Maps toggle/mapped key (SHIFT+ALT+M). If you happen to have pressed this toggle, then it will load the "original" Key Map, but unless you have updated it, it will not affect your new Key Map. There is a FAQ entry on this (it currently is not updated for ISB42 but shall be shortly).

Further to all this, if you are still stuck and need help figuring out what is going on, we will probably need to see your config.
