Amazing 4.0.1 dungeon performance!

I created my 1 paladin + 4 shaman team on Saturday using new RAF'd accounts.

After getting them up to level 16-17, I decided to try out RFC and things went ok. I have the paladin tanking, 3 shaman as casters and one shaman as a dedicated healer.

The healing shaman had to cast at least 1-3 heals per pull but everything was ok. I also managed to do shadowfang keep a few levels later and stockades on Monday night.

Then 4.0.1 hit last night and all of the sudden multiboxing dungeons has become a cakewalk. The paladin now gets the shield to pull as well as HotR for aoe tanking, the ele shamans get better totems and quicker cast times and the resto shaman...my god...earth shield! I ran RFK and Gnomer last night and I think I only casted one direct heal on my paladin when I mistakingly pulled 2 groups in Gnomer. Combined with 4x healing stream totem, health regen was amazing. The ele shamans never even went below 60% mana and could cast Thunderstorm every 45 seconds if they needed a boost.

I highly recommend this setup to anyone who wants to perform really well in PvE dungeons with little to no downtime!

Thanks Lax for the great software and I plan on subscribing when my trial is over!

I've got a similar group...

Prot Paladin, 3x Elemental Shaman, 1x Demo Warlock.

You can go with a dedicated healer if you like, and with the Cataclysm talent changes you need to be Resto spec to have full access to Decurses... so that might be the way to go.
Throughout WotLK content, three Elemental spec Shammies have been more then sufficient healing power for all five-man content.

A warlock or boomkin on the team (or Unholy DK - except that's not a caster), gets you the bonus to spell damage.
And can put out fairly decent damage, comparable to the Shammies.

For PvE, a very good team.

For PvP, the majority of players in a BG seem to target the lead character, which is the hardest toon to kill... but the Pally doesn't bring a huge amount when they're not the target.
Possibly dual-spec, go healer on the Pally and DPS on the Resto Shammy.
