No Addon for ISBoxer in Wow

Hi, new to ISBoxer but I like the concept, so thanks for providing it.

The problem I am having is there is no Addon at all in WoW (Mist of Pandaria) on either of the characters I set up with the Wizard and exported to Inner Space. I am pretty sure I set up the two characters on my two accounts I wanted to run a trial on. Actually I did it three times to make sure I have it correctly.

Once Inner Space launches one, my Play button on WoW comes up fine. However when I click that it stops and WoW has a message that says a critical file is not found, disable all other applications (nothing running), disable anti-virus software (done) and in the alternative run as administrator (I tried doing that also a couple of time with Inner Space but nada).

Also, if I go online manually there is NO Addon at all for ISboxer, even with the load outdated addons either on or off. I bet that is the problem but the solution does not appear on the search function. I see numerous ones for outdated addon problems but nothing if it fails to appear at all. It seems since the program can find my characters in the WoW folder fine it should be able to set up the Addon but I guess not.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Re: No Addon for ISBoxer in Wow

Do you have User Account Control (UAC) turned off in Windows? ISBoxer and Inner Space both require Administrator permissions, and if you have UAC disabled (set to "Never notify") you won't get the notice about this when launching them. Right click and select Run as Administrator and this may help solve the problem.

If ISBoxer Toolkit doesn't run as Administrator but Inner Space does, then ISBoxer may write the Addon into Windows' "Virtual Store" instead of the WoW folder, and then the game will try to look for addons in the actual WoW folder instead of the "Virtual Store".

Or, if you have made changes to your configuration you could potentially have disabled the ISBoxer Addon, so it wouldn't be getting generated. HOWTO: Share your configuration for better support

Re: No Addon for ISBoxer in Wow

Hey, thanks for the quick response! It was quite unexpected, but appreciated.

I googled and found where to turn off the UAC on Windows 7 Home Premium. I did that, restarted the computer then deleted the old profiles completely, then rebooted again just to be safe. I ran Boxer and Inner Space both as administrator and made a new profile choosing one character from each of the two accounts using the Wizard on Boxer. I exported the profile to Inner Space.

I then ran Inner Space and only the new profile was there (good). However when I click it to run, it goes to the Wow Play button, but shuts down with the same error message; cant run a critical file, disable, etc. etc.

It seems very odd that this is not a common problem. At this point, having spent almost a complete Sunday working on this I feel reasonably sure I am doing what the instructions to us common noobs say to do. I cant figure why others have not had the problem and there isn't a huge thread on this lol! But the addon is quite surely not on either Wow Account. I have even manually disabled every add on by unclicking them (not using the disable all allon button) and making sure the show out dated addons are on on both accounts.

I have not made any changes to my configuration except the suggestion to disable the UAC. I am trying to hang in there but I have spent hours refraining from banging my head on the keyboard....

Help!

You keep saying "Play button" ...are you trying to use the WoW Launcher through Inner Space? If so, that's not going to work and you'll need to point Inner Space to the 32-bit executable (wow.exe).

As for missing add-ons, do you have multiple WoW folders on your system?

(This was an extremely quick response because I'm cooking food and reading the forums, so I apologize if I missed any crucial details)

Re: No Addon for ISBoxer in Wow

Well, I deleted everything, shut down the computer, restarted and reinstalled everything. This time when I ran the program a box popped up saying it needed to be in windows mode, it wanted to correct a path and a couple of other things I dont recall. What I DO recall is it asked me if I wanted to allow Inner Space to make the changes. I clicked Yes and it worked!!!

Woot!!! Lol I am in the game now and remembered the Alt F for follow. All I have to do now is remember the assist. The bars are there, not positioned where I want them and other things but I wanted to Rush back and let you know!

Thanks again. Let me try it a few days and I am sure I will purchase it. Its going to save a Ton of tedium on some of the boring things such as the North Barrents 200 valor quest if you happen to be familiar with that one.

Sweet!
