Way to stop ISBoxer from trying to change sub-account?

I get this annoying message every time I export a new config to WoW. Is there any way to disable it? I don't want ISBoxer managing my sub accounts. I don't think it has ever worked correctly. I used to set up teams and fill in the right sub account and all, but when I exported the same account shows up in every window. And even after that it tells me I have the wrong sub-account saved to that character. I think this has a lot to do with how WoW saves your character data folder now. It no longer puts the sub-account name on the folder, just a bunch of numbers. Anyways, I just want it to stop managing this for me.

Thanks

Hello!

I'm sorry for the confusion, but you're interpreting the issue incorrectly (for example, those numbers ARE indeed the correct account name; WoW reads 12345678#1 and turns it into WoW1 from your battle.net account; this has been the case since they switched over to the battle.net e-mail system from the old WoW account name system), and I can't really help you solve this problem without seeing your configuration. (See the sticky "HOWTO Share your configuration")

If I had to guess, it sounds like you have Characters on different accounts configured to use the same Config.WTF file. So first I would go to your Config.WTF virtual file, and click on each of the Characters under it, and look at the "Virtualize as" filename. By default from using the Quick Setup Wizard, that would be something like "Config-MyCharacter.WTF". If more than one Character uses the same Config.WTF file, then that would produce exactly the behavior you're describing, because they are each trying to store the account name in the same place... It would produce that "wrong sub-account name" message EVERY time you Export, even if you JUST exported and did nothing else between!

If you want it to stop managing WoW account names for you, simply remove the Account Name and Sub-Account Name fields from your Characters and it will no longer care about them. I would just fix your config though...

Re: Way to stop ISBoxer from trying to change sub-account?

Because when you click on your Character in the list in the Quick Setup Wizard, it automatically fills in the related boxes on the right, including the correct account name for the account. However, it CANNOT detect the Battle.Net account name, which you left out when using the wizard. So the problem here is actually that -- during the wizard -- you left OUT the battle.net account info, but left IN the detected WoW account.

So what happened is you 1) didn't enter battle.net email, and then 2) likely double-clicked your character in the list without caring about what was actually going in the boxes, as I have been explaining to MiRai in the Beta forum regarding the new Quick Setup Wizard in ISBoxer 41 and why the double-click to add a Character is no longer a feature of this page. ;)

So, since your Character has one of the two fields entered in, it's going to in the Config.WTF file as such... and as you stated, this is not correct because your battle.net e-mail goes under the Account Name field, and the number goes in the Sub-Account Name field.
