Some ?s about a 2 priest team

hey all -

So, I have a team of 2 priests that I have just begun leveling.

At home, I use a keypad. At work, however, where I don't have all my convenient accessories, I just go back to clicking.

I was previously leveling a team of 2 DKs, and I put a repeater region over the main action bar, and it worked like a charm - but when I did the same for my priest team, only the leader was getting the click, regardless of which character's action bar I was clicking. (That is, if I switched to the slave's screen and clicked her action bar, she still didn't do anything, the leader still did.)

(The DK repeater region, on the other hand, worked equally well from both leader and slave - I could click on either action bar and both would do whatever.)

I set up both repeater regions in the same way.
Does anyone have an idea as to why this worked for the DKs but is not working for the priests?

Why don't you just use the keyboard? If you hit a key on it, it will repeat for the slave. That's what I do for all my guys is "keybind" my actoin bar slots to a number and smash them. It will even work if you have a Razer Naga mouse with the 12 buttons on it.

When I had my Death Knights I would just smash "g" for interact with target and then my 1, 2, 3 number buttons that had my macros bound to them. If you run a caster team just make sure you disable "click to move" under mouse settings in the interface setup so they don't run to the targets but instead will turn if they run around on you.

I know this had nothing to do with a repeater region, but I've never heard of anyone doing this to run a team. I just turn broadcasting on manually when I want them all to open a menu at same time or anything else non combat related.

Repeater Regions are incredibly easy to create. Remove the one that doesn't work and remake it. Make sure the Target is "all other" and that you are not blocking local clicks. Make sure to save your work.

Re: Some ?s about a 2 priest team

I solved this myself, by watching when my repeater region worked and when it didn't.

There was no actual problem with the repeater region itself - if I got both characters in combat, they worked fine.

So, I added the auto-attack button to my action bar and I click that first (so that both the master and slave are attacking), and THEN I start clicking the cast buttons - and it works perfectly. It's only when I start off trying to click on a cast button (SW: Pain, in this case) that the clicks aren't translating through to the slave. (I'm sure there's a technical explanation for this, but I'm not going to hazard an attempt at making it.)

So anyway -
It's entirely possible that nobody else will ever want to create a setup like this, but I'm posting the solution I worked out on the off-chance that it might be helpful.

(As to why I want to do this - I'm sure you weren't really asking, but the answer was actually in my original post. As I noted there, this is for when I'm playing at work. My keybindings and everything are set up for my at-home computer, which is where I do all my serious gaming. I don't have my game pad or gaming mouse here, and I have no desire to reinvent my whole in-game setup just for the few hours at work where I have nothing better to do but log in - it's easier, for those few hours, to just go back to clicking - which I can now do.)

Re: Some ?s about a 2 priest team

I have subsequently discovered, that having a repeater region over the click bar allows me to simultaneously attack two targets instead of having both characters only focusing on one.

I'm sure down the line this will not be as useful, but leveling is so easy that a single character can plow through an at-level zone like a hot knife through butter, so having two characters focusing on every kill is... well, overkill.

So it's actually very helpful while leveling, to be able to pull and kill two targets at once - gets through the "kill X of Y" quests twice as fast, especially helpful in the every man for himself mentality of CRZ.

So anyway, just thought I'd mention this, since it seems to have been viewed as a completely useless setup - it does actually have a potentially useful application even beyond the personal use it had for me. 8-)
