Mostly just log into them.

ISBoxer gets character names from your WTF\Account folder. WoW will save some files in the WTF\Account folder when you log into your new characters. :)

sometimes it does not work. that is why i had asked the question of a quick set change. i am leveling a guild for my toons and the fastest i know is to create new toons, do the initial quests and then rinse and repeat. but going through the set procedure is quite tedious if u must do it often in a short time. the new characters do not appear in isboxer unless i create the set with the wizard. probably doing smthg wrong again, but it sure would help to know what.

I think one of us is misunderstanding the question. The characters appearing IN THE QUICK SETUP WIZARD is related ONLY to the WTF files on the disk, which are saved by the game when you log into the character. This is what the question in this thread was asking.

This is why it sounds like you think this thread is about something else. Creating your Character Set with the Quick Setup Wizard is how a "Character" initially gets defined in ISBoxer; that is not the same as being listed by the Quick Setup Wizard, which doesn't even provide a list of the Characters in ISBoxer.

Do what e-mail thing? Nothing in this thread is about e-mail and the WoW Characters that show up in the Quick Setup Wizard have almost no relationship to an e-mail thing.

In order for a WoW Character to show up in the Quick Setup Wizard, it must have saved files in the WoW folder (or one of the WoW folders) that Inner Space has configured. So if you have 2 different WoW folders, and one is not configured in Inner Space, then logging into a Character in that folder will have no effect on the names listed in ISBoxer. If all of your WoW folders ARE configured in Inner Space, then ISBoxer will know about them, and all you should need to do is log into the character (all the way into the actual character, in the game, so you can walk around and use abilities, items, etc), and log out (gracefully, as in don't just terminate the process), so that WoW stores any "saved variables" for your WoW addons.

If you're not talking about the characters showing up in the Quick Setup Wizard, then please, explain what you are looking at so we're on the same page ;)

I wonder why I even bother posting you have to be the least insightful person I've ever come across,.... The email thing is where you enter you battle.net info into the wiz which is an email. Also if I am already boxing on other with other toons and I'm not the only one with this isssue wouldn't this be somthing to look into!? Yes i-space is linked to my wow folder and if I have both dks's to 60 that mean Ive played them both and they would be saved,.....etc. lol,

Re: whats the best way to get new toonz to show up on isboxerwiz

If you're going to be a douche about it I don't really need to try to help you... I didn't know how to interpret "do the email thing" because to most people this means entering your e-mail address at the wow login screen, while as you have discovered simply manually entering information into ISBoxer doesn't put it into the generated list (and this is the first time anyone has referred to it as "doing the email thing").

Thank you for clarifying.

If you are right about the folders, then the only way that comes to mind for WoW to save your variables and ISBoxer to be unable to find it, is if your problem is related to Windows' virtual file store. This comes into play when a) World of Warcraft is installed under Program Files, and b) is not running as Administrator. Windows Vista or later in this situation will automatically save files into C:\Users\*your account name*\AppData\Local\Virtual Store\Program Files instead of the actual Program Files folder, where ISBoxer will be looking (because it should be running as Administrator).

However, Inner Space should also be running as Administrator, which means that launching World of Warcraft through Inner Space should also result in WoW running as Administrator. Meaning, the above situation should not be an accurate description of the problem, if you are logging into these characters with ISBoxer and multiboxing with them.

If you're logging into these WoW characters with ISBoxer, and multiboxing with them, and addons are storing data, then there is no known reason why they would not show up in the list in the Quick Setup Wizard. I'm not saying that there's nothing to look into, but I have nothing to go on.

I've explained where the list comes from, the next step would be to double check the files on your computer to see what characters are showing up in the WoW\WTF\Account folders. You can, of course, continue berating me once you've looked, but at least give me some information about that. ;)
