Need help with autorun

Hi,

Well, I finally have two accounts up and running, and after encountering numerous problems and overcoming them. My next hurdle is getting autorun to work. Right now I have it mapped through WoW to my keyboard's Num Lock key and the same with the thumb button on my Logitech MX Revolution. Everything works fine until I enter the game via Innerspace. So, I am guessing I have to do something to set it there. Can someone please help? I am reading what I can find, and it think it might have something to do with key mapping, FTL DPS settings and I don't know what. But it is all still too new.

I really want to be able to just hit that button and run...I do not want to have to hold down the W key endlessly.

Hope you understand.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Need help with autorun

Anything that is not set as the Hotkey for a Mapped Key in ISBoxer will just fall through to the active game window. So, as long as you haven't set Num Lock as the Hotkey for a Mapped Key in ISBoxer pressing Num Lock should make your main window Autorun, assuming that Num Lock is keybound to Autorun in WoW. If it is not working then you will need to link your ISBoxer configuration: Sharing your ISBoxer configuration.

Right now I have it mapped through WoW to my keyboard's Num Lock key and the same with the thumb button on my Logitech MX Revolution.
This sentence is ambiguous to me. Do you mean that you have your mouse set up so that when you press the thumb button it sends Num Lock?

If so, you need to run your mouse software as administrator: see FAQ: Why are my custom keyboard/mouse buttons not working?

Finally, I would urge you to change the key you are using to activate autorun. The Num Lock key is designed toggle the behaviour of a bunch of other keys and so is not a good choice for autorun as its use may stop other expected behaviour from working.

While I don't know why he can't use autorun, I can say that NumLock and Mouse Button 4 are WoW's default autorun keys.

As for the OP, I've never heard of anyone not being able to use the default autorun keys before. Is this keyboard an enUS layout?

Re: Need help with autorun

Just to be clear...

The main toon is using Autorun, via Numlock (or another key).
And the slave character is auto following the main character.
As in they are not also using Auto Run themselves...

If both have AutoRun/Numlock on.
The running will not be in sync, as in they will gradually point in different directions and run apart, no matter how well you line them up initially.

Re: Need help with autorun

Hi everyone, thanks for the good replies.
Alge, in response to your question:

Do you mean that you have your mouse set up so that when you press the thumb button it sends Num Lock?

Yes that is what I mean, if I am not using ISBoxer, and I press my mouse button, it sends Num Lock and Num Lock is set to AutoRun in WoW. It doesn't work though if I use ISBoxer to launch the game.

MiRai, Hi! It is a Logitech G15 keyboard.

Ualaa, I have read that we must use autofollow to get the toons to move right together. Right now, I can't even get one toon to autorun. But rest assured, when I do I will use follow.

Thanks!

p.s.- I will go now and see if Num Lock is already mapped/bound to something in ISBoxer.

Ok, I am not sure if I am doing this right, but here is the link for privatepaste.com and my ISBoxer configuration:

Hope that is right.

Re: Need help with autorun

Set an alternate hotkey for it in the game and have ISBoxer press it instead of Num Lock. Problem solved ;)

I'll look into the issue with having it press Num Lock though

Re: Need help with autorun

Still doesn't work. I tried Shift + ] which is } and I tried the letter P first unbinding it from toggle spellbook. I tried a few others also.

Re: Need help with autorun

I just looked at your config that you pasted and, although it has a Mapped Key called autorun, that Mapped Key does not have a Hotkey assigned and isn't instructed to do anything.

Use the Mapped Key Wizard and select "Straight Key Broadcast". Tell it to broadcast whatever key autorun is. To use a different Hotkey, change it after finishing the wizard. To do so, just select your Mapped Key in the bottom left pane, and then in the bottom right pane change the "Hotkey" box to whatever you would like to press to activate it
