Tank/Healer Teams

So far I've been dual boxing using caster teams (two mages, two ele shammies, two boomkins) and this has been fun and gone well for me.

I'd like to try running a tank/healer team, but I have no idea where to even begin with that set up. I'm most comfortable with paladins and priests, but I could probably run a druid or shaman as my healer with a pally tank. I'm still learning how to play a Warrior so I would not want to try learning that AND learning how to "self" heal as a dual box team.

Any words of wisdom on how to set this up and run successfully?

Re: Tank/Healer Teams

I would go with Grid + Grid Custom Layouts + Clique.

Set up some mouse heal binds, on your healer.
Put a repeater region over the entire Grid, with KVM (block local click) enabled, sending the clicks to your Healer toon only.

Then you can drive with your tank.
Auto follow with the healer.
Break follow with a spread out, mapped key or independent slave movement key.

Run in with the tank, and attack things.
Click heal from the tank's screen, on whichever toon needs heals.

The Dungeonfinder will be a good source of dungeons while leveling.
And you won't often be voted out, as it takes a while to find Tanks + Healers, let alone both.

I would go with a Shaman Healer and a Druid Tank.
Because both of those classes are great in those roles, when boxing.
And because they're new.

The Shaman will Earth Shield the tank periodically, and ensure that's up before a pull.
Once you have Riptide, you won't often need more than those two tools.
Healing Wave and Greater Healing Wave are your main heals.
You can Chain Heal the party for AoE damage.

A Bear Form druid can effectively one-button mash for tanking.
You're missing some key tools initially...
So maybe quest with the two toons until later.
Or just go at it, anyway...
Mangle, Maul, Faerie Fire and Lacerate are good single target moves.
Swipe is for AoE, along with your debuff roar.
Thrash is quite nice, but that's later...

Your Shaman can go Elemental (dual-spec).
Your Druid can go Boomkin (dual-spec).
And both are ranged casters, who will level well together, with good synergy.

If your setup allows you to use Video FX, there is also this easy to set up option:

There are a number of other ways to do this in ISBoxer as well. I use Click Healing, based on this guide:
